I was young and foolish to believe they could change. That peace was achievable among us. But how can there be peace if everyone wishes to rule? I was blinded by the love for my own family. I could have stopped everything if I wished, a bat of the eye, a flick of the wrist. I could have used all of my power to quell the fighting.
______
In the beginning there was one, Unus, the all powerful father. He alone created the world and everything in it. Upon the earth he created humans in his likeness. Once he finished with his first creation he realized he was lonely. He used all of his power to create an equal and opposite partner.
Martes, the mother, watched over the earth and like her husband she grew lonely. The mother was jealous of her mortal children for she wished to have her own children that she could hold without breaking, look upon with all her glory and not hurt them.
Seeing his lover upset he used his power to give her everything she wished for. He had been secretly craving the same things.
Mortal lifetimes passed and finally Martes bore the first sons and daughters. In total there were 7 each bearing a piece of their parents might and power.
The first born ,Rimu, was blessed as the god of battle. He gifted his father's people with weapons and brought forth man's hunger for war. He was born with malice in his heart which his father could see from the moment he joined the world.
The second born, Unus seeing that he was good named him Rexus. He was given the mantle, King of everything the light touches. He gave mortals courage and helped build the first empires.
The third and fourth children,Matut and Opa, came out entangled in each other's limbs. They would bring each morning and end each day with the darkness of night. To man they gave the hope of a new day and the dreams that come with every night.
