Karma and a few E Class students decided to stay for a while, while the others bid farewell to them. Araki was lying on the hospital bed, clearly unconscious due to loss of blood. Her mother rushed over to visited the sick patient.
When she got there, her expression turned into a horrid one. Memories of hers starting to come back in black and white. It reminded her of something dreadful in the past.
"Sawara-kaachan," Nagisa awed his attention to the white haired's mother. "She began coughing out blood this morning when she and Karasuma-sensei were doing a practice match. But it wasn't the reason why she.."
The mother nods in understanding and slowly walk towards her daughter. She held Araki's hand, looking at her sleeping face with a worried smile plastered on Sawara's face.
"Araki is stubborn at times of need. Sometimes she forgets things and make an excuse why didn't do it. Still, that's what made Araki- Araki."
Karma, Nagisa, Sugino, Kanzaki and Kayano were the only ones there, excluding Araki's mother. They replied with a small genuine smile, "But there isn't much time left." Sawara added, as her smile turned into a frown.
Her touch on her daughter's hand tighten as she tears up. "I-It's not f-fair..." she sobs.
The students wonder. As Nagisa asks what does she meant by that, they froze in anticipation.
"B-Before I got here... I visited my husband to ask him about Araki's tentacles and all in all, hair-tenta. Of course, his fellow scientist had to eavesdrop because they were the ones who examined her and wasn't be able to complete it perfectly."
She continued, "I asked if there is a cure to remove it but they said there is nothing that could remove it. If we did, she'd die. However..."
As the mother cuts her sentence, Nagisa couldn't wait for her to continue. "However, what?"
Again, she continues with a sob. "If we're eager to remove it, then she needs to endure the pain from i-its side effects. In other words-"
Nagisa's eyes widen, "She needs to suffer."
So as they sink in what the whole story was all about, Karma was first to know. However, he was against it.
"I won't let make Araki suffer just to remove those damn tentacles."
