The Bachelorette Trip

"Mom please, I really want to go !" I tried convincing my mom but clearly she wasn't being convinced.

"Honey,you've got to understand. We can't just let you go ." She said

I was just asking if I could complete my wish list with Alex , my best friend . It would be sort of like a road trip which meant I will leave this home for a while and live in an apartment or whatever .

"Mom , you know how much this wishlist means to me ! I can't just let it all go!" I tried to make her understand .

"I don't kn- "

I cut her off . "I made the list when I was 9 ! It means a lot to me ! Please. After I complete everything , I will come and marry this whoever you wan-"

"Dave." She reminded me .

"Yes Dave . I will marry him as soon as I come back , you can engage us and then plan all that wedding shit but I still want a contract marriage and not the celebration type please ." I begged her.

"We shall see about that and as for your trip, I'm still doubting it. "

I pleaded "Please? Think of it as a bachelorette trip? I do deserve one after all ."

"If you put it like that ... "

I closed my eyes waiting for her to decide . Even she knows how much this trip would mean to me . I basically have a wishlist that I want to complete before I get married . May I add , I'm not willing to marry but mom emotionally blackmailed me . She thinks I should be married by now but clearly I'm just 20 .

She finally responded . "Two months . Two months is all I'm giving you . Within those months you've got to complete your list"

I squealed with joy as soon as she said that . "But.." Great, there always has to be a but . I looked at her hoping it won't be something terrible .

She smiled at me . An it wasn't the genuine , sweet and innocent smile , it was an I'm - in - charge - and - you - listen - to - my - orders - type smile ."But when you come back , you are going to get married . And you won't object . "

I sighed . "Fine." Then I remembered , "Mom, I have to go tell this to Alex ! Oh god , he will be so excited !" And with that I ran back to my room to pack and tell Alex .

This will be my bachelorette trip . Nothing will stop me from completing my wishes . And I would be living the perfect life of a bachelorette as long as I can .
