"Mom, come on! I want to get going!"
"Sweetheart, give me a moment. Go and wait in the car."
"Fine," I sigh and open the back car door and crawl into the back.
"You know I want to get there in time so I can warm up!" I yell to her, and the door pops open to reveal my mother's strawberry blond hair and bright green eyes, now darkened with irritation, staring at me.
"The car is almost packed, be patient."
I blow air out of my nose loudly, and hear my phone buzz. I smile, realizing it's my boyfriend, Noah.
Noah: hey babe, you on the road yet?
Me: Nope, parents have decided to take everything we own with us, so it's still gonna be a while.
Noah: oh, that sucks :(
Me: haha yeah. I'm so nervous
Noah: for what? You're the best on the track team babe. You're gonna win this.
"Alright, we are ready to go! Harold, get outside, we're leaving!"
I hear the door open and close and then my father grumbling, opening the drivers side and starting the car, which immediately starts the air vents as
well. I sigh in relief, for summer has been exhausting with its heat. I flip my light brown hair over and try to tame the curls into a ponytail. I got my hair from my Father, and my light green eyes from my mother. My skin had tanned lightly over the summer, and my shorts were sticking to my skin, along with my purple tank top. I was fairly tall, about 5'4, and I don't believe I am going to grow anymore.
My mother slams the door shut, and finally, we are off.
