I felt numb all over. I just couldn't feel a thing. I had tried opening my eyes but the bright white light almost blinded me so I closed my eyes again. I tried to move but I could only move my fingers and my head side to side. I didn't know where I was or what had happened to me. All I can remember was being at home and then my world went black. I heard muffled voices. Soft whirs of machines. Footsteps. Other voices that seemed familiar but I couldn't match the voices with the faces. Cause I couldn't see. I opened one eye and squinted. When that got a little better I opened both eyes and the light faded into a more suitable light for my eyes to adjust to. When I was more awake I turned to my right and saw my grandmother and my older brother. My grandma turned round and yelled.
'Doctor she's awake'
3 female nurses came running in. One adjusted my bag of fluids, the other was scribbling down on some paper in a folder at the end of my bed. The other just stood there making sure everything was ok.
'Hello miss Ashleigh, how do you feel?' one woman asked.
'I'm ok and what happened to me?' I replied back, looking at everyone with confused and a worried expression. The nurses left and my grandma started sobbing.
My brother spoke.
'He got you'
All I could do was gasp. I was incapable of doing anything else.
'He got mum too but she wasn't so lucky'
I screamed.
