The twins look at each other. Tonight is their first day of their last year before they can officially be called wizards. They have been waiting for this for years. It was a long road but they finally made it, Senior year. This final year was all that was standing between them and glory. It was important because a lot of prospective employers would be watching scouting and looking at the next generation of talent.

Johnaia and Tomanze had a certain edge in gaining patron interest because they were twins. However they still had to prove themselves, because they weren't the only twins around. In fact being a twin isn't what it once was. With medicine and magic be used multiple births more common than ever. However they had they added advantage of their parents both being famous wizards.

Together they walked into an arena with their entire senior class. They all lined up in the full view of everyone. Up in the stadium the chairs were full of wizards from around the world. Tomanze looked up at his parents in the audience of the welcoming ceremony. His father was talking to a group of important looking people. His mom was holding court with a crew of interviewers. She was looking as radiantly beautiful as ever and was quite popular with the public. He glanced at his sister she didn't look nervous at all. Her beautiful face was a mask of cool competence but he knew his sister better than that. Big crowds made them both nervous.

He caught her eyes glance over at her crush Tristair. He was a muscular pretty boy and Tomanze hated him. They used to be best friends until one day out of no where Tristair became extremely jealous that Tomanze always seemed to be the teacher's favorite... well everyone's favorite. He believed it was because Tomanze had famous parents. Tristair's own parents where common urchins. His father was arrested and thrown in jail when Tristair was two years old. So his mother came to work in Johnaia and Tomanze parents house.

As a result they all grew up together. The twins parents even got him in this exclusive wizard academy. It is the best and frankly only wizard school in the world. Any one who is anyone in the magic world has attended this school. You cannot officially call yourself a wizard if you don't graduate from this school. If you flunk, or as most poorer magic people attest never get accepted to attend here, you are an unregistered sorcerer. This means you can't get hired for any good jobs and you can't work in any professional institutes. So finding magical work without an academy degree is near impossible. Because of this many resort to illegal black market magic jobs and have very rudimentary knowledge on magic in of itself what with being self taught. They are encouraged by the general wizard community to seek out non magical jobs like an accountant, there is always a need for more accountants.

This year's graduating class will contain one hundred wizards. It is tradition that each class have this many. However one hundred twenty eight seniors stood in the arena. It was expected that by the end of the year twenty eight would fail. Tomanze personally thought this was brutal and unfair but it wasn't his place to complain. If he failed his family would disown him and he would be an outcast, but no one thought he was going to fail.

He was currently at the top of the class. In fact he was just informed he was to be head boy of the class. His grades were better than even his sisters who was just mere points below him. In fact the only person to beat him much to his parent distaste was his real best friend Torianda.

She was wicked smart and he loved her with all his heart. He just wasn't sure if she loved him back. He hoped to talk to her after the ceremony was over. He glanced up and caught his reflection in the silvery reflective surface of the guards helmet in front of him. He looked a male version of his sister, but he was more average in attractiveness. His face didn't share the exoticness his mother and sister had. He looked almost forgettable, he figured if he didn't have famous parent he would fade in the background, and hardly be noticed except for his grades. Girls seemed to flirt with him only after they heard his family name. They seemed to think he was average looking but his family made him interesting. However Torianda was different.

But all the attention made the attractive, but poor Tristair furious. This was because he knew Tomanze had a secret. Tom tried to look average on purpose. He knew it seemed he had everything and he was hated for it.  He hated being hated. That is why he hated Tristair back.

Johnaia didn't seem to understand this. She was always complaining about how he was embarrassing her with his glasses and long hair and boring clothes.

"Why do you downplay yourself like this? I know you could be king of the school if you wanted! I mean really the glamour is too much!"

"You are hated by every girl at that school because you are pretty, rich, and smart. You want me to be hated too?" he retorts.

"Let haters hate" she shouts! "You'll never be liked by everyone no matter what you do," she says more quietly. We both exchange glances thinking of the same person. They all used to be three peas in a pod until that day.

He thought this as he barely listened to the Headmaster drone on until something caught his attention his mom was climbing on stage.

"This year is going to be a little different everyone." she said.

"I know you are use to having the year to study and the taking the qualifiers at the end of the year but this time we are going have examiners here year round everything's a test. In fact its already started" and she throws a glowing ball in the air and yells "catch!"
