CHAPTER 2

I wake up to the ringtone from my phone. I guess I fell asleep. Wow it's already 7.

I pick up my phone. The name "ALICE (LOML)" is across the screen.

"GIRL TELL ME EVERYTHING!" She is nearly squealing.

"Sorry I just woke up. But..." I tell her everything about the plane ride, the drive, Louis, my mysterious neighbor, etc.

"Is this front desk guy hot? What about your neighbor?" She asks.

"I'm not gonna answer that." I laugh. "It's only the first day, I don't wanna anyone getting in my pants."

"I get you girl.. OH I was gonna tell you something earlier." She sounds nervous when she speaks.

"What is it?"

"Well... Luke came to my place early this morning."

My heart drops. Shivers go down my body when I hear her say Luke.

I can barely let out words. "What I... why did he visit you?"

"He was gonna see you but your parents weren't home so he came to my place and I explained how you left and he turned into stone after I told him. Val... He wants you back."

I took a big gulp. My stomach starting to hurt. "Oh." Thats the best I could do to make out words after hearing all this. The call is silent. So many thoughts hit my mind.

Flashbacks come in.

With the biggest smile on my face I get out of the car. I open the back seat to grab the pretty wrapped box filled with his favorite desserts from the local bakery; the bakery where our first date was. It's been 2 years and 6 months since that date. Time really does fly quickly.

I walk up the stairs of his house. I knock on the door. No response. His car is in the driveway though?

I try to open the door and it actually opens.

I look around the 1st level of the house. No one there.

I go up the 2nd level and peak through all the rooms but still no one in sight.

Oh! Of course he's in the basement. He practically lives down there because of his Xbox.

I quickly walk down. I open the door to the basement slowly to surprise him.

As i tip toe down the steps I hear him. And another voice. It's a girl.

My heart stops. I stop moving. I feel frozen.

"Fuck, deeper Luke." I hear the girl moan.

I want to throw up. Anger starts taking over me.

Without even noticing I burst myself down the stairs. I see her on top of him.

"LUKE what the fuck!" I nearly scream. Tears start pouring down my face.

He pushes the girl off him and throws her shirt at her.

"Val I..." That's all he says. I wanna slap his face right now.

"I fucking come here to surprise you but I guess I was the one getting the surprise." My tone is low. I nearly choke on my words from all the tears.

"Baby please I. Let me explai-"

I cut him off "NO, no you don't need to explain." I throw the box at the wall as hard as I can.

They both flinch when I throw them.

"Val breathe please!" He tries to grab my shoulder.

"Shut the fuck up." I wanna scream so many things at him. "Don't ever talk to me again!"

I run upstairs and out the door. I stop when I reach my car to catch my breath.

I hear him behind me.

"Val, please." He sounds so desperate and pathetic.

I laugh and turn around.

"What do you have to explain because trust me I got the whole picture from earlier."

"Please I can make this up. You're the only one I love. The only one I'll ever love." His words makes me queasy. How could he even say that.

"REALLY? Maybe you should double check that after me having to witness you fucking another girl."

He looks blank.

"Just fuck off okay i'll leave you and your girl to finish up." I get into my car. Not making eye contact at all when I pull out of the driveway. Although I could see him at the corner of my eye just standing in the same spot watching me leave.

"VAL YOU THERE?" My flashback disappears from Alice's voice.

"Sorry I just blanked out." Trying to make up a quick excuse.

"As I was saying, I told Luke to just leave you alone."

A smile is put onto my face. "Thank you so much."

"Anytime baby."

I'm so happy to have Alice in my life. I would of been a mess without her, especially after the break up.

"Oh shoot it's 6:30 I gotta go girl. Niall promised to take me out tonight." She says with so much happiness.

I'm so happy for her. Niall and Alice have been a thing for a year now. I really do miss hanging with them.

"That's awesome! Make sure you tell him I said hi."

"I will!."

We exchange our goodbyes and hang up the phone.

I stand up and go to the long mirror to fix myself up. I put my hair in a ponytail.

What if Luke comes here? What would I even say? God every time his name pops up I get the worst headache.

I need to clear up my head. I should go out and look around the city.
