The word
Something people fear
Something I fear
It clings to me
My mom went through it
My grandma, my grandpa, my friend
All of them
They went through it
Now it's my turn
The word
Covers every bit of my skin
It's me, I'm it
It's stolen the innocence of this poor girl
It's pushed so much pain on me
It's covered me in terrifying scars
It's run through my blood
Turning me cold
Bitter
Hurt
Nobody gets it
You have to go through it
You have to live it
Or else you won't understand
You have to hear the people crying for you
You have to see the physical pain strapped to you
You have to feel the torture inside you
Feel the guilt
Feel the pain
Feel the weakness when all you've ever been is strong
They say it'll make me stronger
That I shouldn't worry
Everything will be fine
I have nothing to say
Just that
I hate
The word
