P.O.V.- Mark

"So, Mark, how've ye been lately?"

The sound of Jack's light Irish accent broke me from my trance of memories. I had started to think of Daniel again. He was an old friend of mine who attempted suicide last year and died in the hospital. It was his 22nd birthday the other day. Matt, Ryan, and I all went to our old favorite restaurant for dinner in Dan's honor. Wishing him a happy birthday in Heaven. I miss him so much. I can only hope he knows how much we loved and respected him. I cleared my throat and looked at the green haired man on my monitor's screen and smiled.

     "Yeah, just... thinking."

"Ye sure, Mark? Ye've been acting pretty odd, lately. Just the other day ye Tweeted about how yer life is a mess."

"I was talking about a video I was editing. Thing was driving me nuts!" I chuckled in attempt to add some realism to my excuse. Jack bit his lip and sighed.

"Okay, man. But... if ye need to talk to anyone, Mark."

"I know, Jack, I know. 'We're here for you, Mark.' I get it. Really, everything is fine." Lies.

"Okay. Well, I'm getting tired so I'll talk to ye again, later, alright?"

Don't leave yet, please. "'Kay! See ya, man!"

     "Bye."

My smile dropped as soon as the call ended. I stood up abruptly and stormed off to my bathroom. They were screaming into my fucking ears again the entire time I was talking to Sean. And they're still not shutting up. I swung open the mirror cabinet and grabbed my prescription pills, gulping down probably more than I needed. I placed the neon orange bottle back on its shelf and closed the cabinet door. I must've closed it too hard since a corner of the mirror cracked from the force. I listened as the voices of my parents fighting behind me dulled into nothing but static. I gripped the sink and squeezed.

But they're never quiet for long.

Just as I finish that thought, they start yelling again. But louder and at me. I scream and head-butt my mirror. I feel blood seep out from my forehead as my body descends to the ground. The back of my head collides with something hard and cold but I don't feel pain. I don't feel anything. Darkness surrounds me. Bliss, painless, silence.

The darkness is always so calm and welcoming.
