"Bo!", I hear my boss yell as I'm trying to leave my shift for the 4th time because it has already ended, why did everyone else get to leave? I work at my local Starbucks in Flagstaff, Arizona and it's super packed right now which is odd due to the fact that it's only four o'clock. According to my best friend Jesse, also known as my only friend, the music festival going on in the woods just out of town is out of energy drinks and it's part of a protest, so they want to continue all night to make it on the news, so they came here, instead of gas stations, like wtf, I admire their persistence, but I just want to go home.

I cannot believe I've been at work from setting up in the morning till closing time(6a.m.-8p.m.) and that we still have ingredients left. I'm now laying on the counter with honey stuck on my face and sugar stuck on in the honey, but I really don't care, I'm exhausted, also due to the fact, I was up all night doing homework the night before.

"Great job today guys, our sales were through the roof! Awesome hustle! Now whoever is scheduled to close today, do yo thang!", She says, "I'm getting so much better at this whole slang talk", I hear her whisper to herself when she's really not, but I love her any way, she's a good boss.

"Thanks a lot, Bo, I'm sorry I only kept you here all day", she says as she leans on the side of the counter, "I believe you're a very hard worker and I admire that, I would like to assign you as an assistant General manager", she says.

I lift my head up and hop off the counter, and look up at her.

"Seriously?!", I yell out of excitement.

"Yes!", she mimics my excitement.

"Yes!", I jump and hug her.

"Bring it in giiirrl", she pulls away and looks at me with a look, silently asking if that was good, I straighten out my shirt and smile awkwardly.

"Mmm no, stop", I tell her, she laughs and walks off.

"Go home already, and don't lay on the counter, it's unsanitary, get that stuff off your face!", I chuckle.

I make myself a Mocha Frappachino, hang my apron up, grab my backpack, and leave.

"Byyye!", I yell to my co-workers and close the door.

"Ow!", I land on my butt.

"I'm so sorry, are you okay?", I look up to see a guy with blue eyes that practically glow and jet black hair.

"It's okay", I say as he pulls me up, he flinched back at our touch. Weird... but my drink's okay! Score!

He continues to study my face as I awkwardly sip my straw and walk slowly around him, eye contact still happening.

"Mmk byyye", I say as I speed walk to my car, ahhh, my baby. 67 GTO.

I arrive home in less than ten minutes, I open my front door, and see a note on the staircase.

"Went out with the girls, don't wait up, love you! -Michelle"

Alright. I haven't eaten all day and I'm too tired to, all I want to do is sleep.

I went upstairs to my bathroom to brush my teeth, I looked in the mirror and realized I still have the stuff from the counter in my face. I took a quick shower, almost falling asleep in the process, I put on one of Jesse's t-shirts that he leaves here when he stays over and some shorts then passed out.

I open my eyes feeling weight on my chest, I look down to make sure I'm safe and realized it's just Jesse, probably came in here last night, I remember when we gave him a key, took my dad 5 years to give him one because he was always here, but broke my window a couple of times by throwing a rock trying to get my attention, my dad wasn't too mad, he knew Jesse would pay him back for it, but was pretty annoyed of it already, my mom laughed so hard because of Jesse's 'Kookyness' she had said, I told her it wasn't a word, admired by her 'kookyness', she spelled it that way too, so Jesse got the key to the house. I miss my parents. I knew today was going to be a good day, so, I didn't mourn too much.
