Day After Tomorrow

One wish.

Winter and Sam run as fast as they can through a land of trees and water. The human mutant is chasing them down a long river bend. While running, Winter notices her laces are untied, Winter warns her. it's too late she trips over them, everything in her pack falls and spills out. Winter notices something, The gun. With hesitance Winter picks up the gun ready for anything! The mutant wasn't behind them, although fierce and hostile, Winter knew the only way to survive was to defend.

"Where did the thing go?" Winter said still holding the gun up, Sam yelling "It hurts so bad!", "Oh god" Winter said, "Its broken" Sam says crying, Winter grabs two of his sticks and ties them around her leg side by side. "You'll be okay I promise!" Winter said.

He grabs Sam and carries her to a flat surface where he builds a fire. "Ill stay up tonight, and watch for anything that might hurt you" Winter said, "Calm down i'll be fine, can I sleep next to you..." Sam asked. "Whatever makes you feel better." Winter said,

Couple hours go by, it's night time. Sam curls up next to Winter, They begin to close their eye's when "Do you see it!" Winter said, "THE BEAST?!?!?" Sam whispers,
RADIO: I researched a little about this "mutant" didn't find much but it's scared of direct light, meaning if you have a flashlight and point it at the mutant it will be stunned and run off...
"Thanks, we underestimated you Mr. Scientist dude" Winter said,
"We don't have a flashlight!" Sam said,
The only defense available was the gun that Sam was carrying around for some time. So Winter stayed up the rest of the night while Sam was resting with her broken leg. Winter was nervously pointing the gun all night at some trees.

It's morning Sam wakes up, but finds Winter asleep. "Winter wake up." Sam saying in a loud whisper.
"What..." Winter saying with a morning attitude. "It's morning." Sam said,

They pack their things to get ready to leave their current location. Sam wraps her hands around Winter and they begin walking in one direction avoiding obstacles. "My leg isn't in pain anymore" Sam said, " Weird but great" Winter said.
"I feel safe with you Winter." Sam says. "I feel confident taking care of you" Winter says. The ground begins to shake, so much as to make Sam collapse atop her broken leg "Ahhh!" Sam screams in pain. Winter quickly lifts Sam up into his arms. "What's going on!" Sam says grasping onto Winter. "I don't know but it can't be good" Winters says.

Later there was a noise that was loud enough for Winter and Sam to hear. "Did you hear that Winter?" Sam asked. "Hear what?" Winter asked. All of the sudden they both have a look in their eyes of fear. Sam looks at Winter who still has the gun. "Toss me the gun Sam wold Winter" Sam says in a very silent whisper. Winter tries to toss over the gun but is then grabbed by the neck by the MUTANT. "Its ugly" Winter yells laughing. "HELP!" Winter yells. Sam grabs the gun and aims for the mutant beast.

1 SHOT is missed, "SAM DONT FUCKING KILL ME" Winter yells. "ILL TRY NOT TO" Sam says while taking the shot. The mutant backs off of Winter far enough for Winter to run and grab Sam. The creature is scared of direct light, the gun shots made enough light from the barrel. The creature ran off, in the far distance he disappeared. "That was close call, who knows what the thing would have done with you!" Sam says in relief.
