Chapter 4

I could hardly sleep that night. Butterflies attacked my stomach as I thought about our kisses and cuddling. Maybe Noah did like me after all! I was so happy the next day that I skipped down the stairs, two at a time, at half seven in the morning. “You’re looking perky this morning.” Commented my dad, “Yea-ah!” said John in that annoying voice of his. I quickly downed my breakfast and ran upstairs to pull on my uniform and put on my make-up to perfection. I grabbed my satchel and as soon as I heard the doorbell ring, my heart leapt. Dad answered it, “Hey there Noah, suppose you’re looking for Sophie. I hope she’s ready! SOPHIE!” he called. I ran down the stairs and my breath caught in my throat as I saw him standing there looking so damn fine. He was so gorgeous, leaning in the doorway with his satchel strap over his shoulder and his hair still messy (but in a sexy way) from sleep. “Ready to go?” he asked, “Yup!” I replied brightly skipping out the door. As soon as I closed it his lips were on mine kissing me hungrily.

The fireworks surged through my body again as I leaned in to the kiss. He smiled as he pulled away and through his arm around my shoulder saying “C’mon Babes! Schooly-wooly time!”  He held the passenger door open for me like a true gentleman and after he got in we soon sped away. Looking out the window I saw the girls from the local public school talking and messing. I had once longed to be one of them and away from snobby St. Barth’s, but now that Noah was here, I wouldn’t change St. Barth’s for anything.

“Thank God it’s Friday!” said Jessica as we walked from the queue in the caf, with our food in our hands. “I still can’t believe Noah kissed you, NO WAIT! I can!!” she laughed.  I felt my phone vibrate in my blazer pocket, I pulled it out and I had a text from Noah. “I wuz thinking, maybe we shld go out tonight? Hwz 6? Xx” “Oh my GOD!” squealed Jessica and she quickly ran to our table to tell the other girls. I sent a quick text to Noah – “Snds gr8! C ya thn! X” Suddenly I felt two hands on my face. “Noah!” I whined sarcastically. “No” said a deep voice, he removed his hands and I turned around to see, “JAKE! What are you doing!” “Look Soph,” he said “I made a huge mistake it’s you I really want. Seeing you with him made me realise that. I broke it off with Talia. I’m so sorry, can we get back together?” He leaned in to kiss me but I pushed him away. “No Jake! I’m with Noah now and I’ll never do to him what you did to me!” “But Soph!” He whined. “No Jake,  just no.”

I quickly sped away to my table with my friends. Thankfully they hadn’t seen me and Jake’s confrontation. “      OMG!” squealed Faith “He asked you out? What will you, like, wear? I’m so helping you get ready!” All the girls agreed to help me get ready after school. I was on a high all day, but the confrontation with Jake still nagged me at the back of my head. The day dragged on and finally the final bell rang. Amelia brought us all back to my house in her Lexus, so poor Noah had to go home alone. They spent an hour and a half getting me ready. Jane and Jessica did my make-up amazingly, while Amelia and Faith made my long hair in to soft curls. They all chose for me to wear my red Vivienne Westwood dress and my sparkly Laboutins that I got last year.

When the doorbell rang they all rang down the stairs giggling hysterically- thank God we were alone. I could hear their voices and Noah’s drifting up to the landing. I started to make my way down the stairs, my eyes on Noah the whole time. He was wearing a blue striped shirt, a smart dress-jacket and designer-looking jeans. He looked super fit! His mouth was open as he stared at me, I looked down and blushed. “Hi” I said softly when I reached the bottom of the stairs. “You look…. Amazing!” he said. We headed out the door, “Bye girls!” I called and as I closed the door Noah pulled me in to one amazing kiss. Suddenly, he picked me up and carried me bridal-style to the car. “Noah!” I squealed, but he quickly silenced me with his lips.

He put me in the car and drove me to “Le Fleur” the fancy five star restaurant on the city’s main street. We were seated in a quiet private booth, near the back. The food was amazing and we bonded even more with some hilarious stories from our pasts. He paid the bill and then we headed outside. It was cold when we stepped out of the warm restaurant; I shivered, so he gave me his jacket. He put his arm around me and walked me to the car, kissing me softly when we reached our destination.

We drove high in to the mountains near the outskirts of the city. He wouldn’t tell me where we were going. When I saw it I knew why we were here. The car was parked on a cliff, overlooking the lights of the city. We got out of the car and he lay a picnic blanket on the ground. “It’s beautiful!” I said. “Not as beautiful as you” he pulled me in to a kiss and then down on to the picnic blanket. Tugging me in to a hug I cuddled in to him, smelling his distinctive woodsy scent. I could feel myself falling for him. I loved everything about him – his smile, his eyes, his soft skin, his touch, his hugs, his kisses and especially, Him.  We spent most of the night there looking at the stars and kissing.

He smiled at me and running his thumb down my neck, he pulled me in to a long deep kiss. My fingers tangled in his hair as our bodies pressed closer together. He smiled through the kiss and gently pulled away. “I love you Soph, I really do!” “I love you too Noah” and we fell in to another blissful kiss.
