I could hear the boys whispering in the other room as I readied what I needed for the task. After some thought, I'd decided on using a pendulum made for location, but the name of the girl we were looking for was too common. How many Sarah M. Jones' could there be in the states? I'd ended up changing my mind to using a spell.

I knew that the boys were against magic, particularly Dean with his "witches are bitches" deal, but it couldn't be helped. I was in the middle of reaching for a smudge stick of sage (a girl's best friend, no matter the cause) when I heard the aforementioned Winchester's avid complaints.

"Sammy, we aren't doing this. She's a witch, man. You know what they do. We've had to stop girls like her from literally starting the fucking apocalypse, and you expect me to just smile and say thanks for her doing something we could've done on our own?"

"Dean, you know we need her help. She helps hunters, not hellhounds. Bobby said she wasn't like the others, and we have to trust him on it, alright? We can't leave. Who else do we know that can do this? We're running on almost nothing here, Dean, we need her. Besides, she seems harmless, so-"

"Thanks for the good faith, Sam, but I'm far from harmless." I'd gathered the rest of my items while listening and had slowly crept up to the doorway, leaning against it with one hip and cradling my supplies in my arms. "Dean, if you have a problem with me just because I'm a witch, you really need to open your mind. Yeah, covens all over are trying to raise hell and massacre towns, but most of 'em are only trying to raise their wage. You don't know anything about me, boy, and I'm sick of hearing you bitch about me, so shut it."

Dean's muscles tensed, his face a dark grimace, but he didn't say a word. Sam, too, was silent, not knowing what to say.

"Good, that's what I'm talking about. So, are you ready? I'll only need you to sit in the circle with me. I can't promise anything exact, but I can get you a lead, at the least."

Sam nodded. "No problem. Thank you so much for helping us, uhm... What should we be calling you, anyway? Bobby just referred to you as 'the witch' for the most part, so..."

Shaking off the slight offense I took at Bobby's lack of proper introduction, I replied simply with a "(Y/N). My name is (Y/N)."

Sam smiled. "(Y/N). That's pretty, I like it."

I blushed slightly, looking away just in time to see Dean rolling his eyes at his brother's comment. "Thank you," I said. "You're sweet." I looked at him for a moment, smiling back at him, before I remembered the task at hand. "So, you boys ready to find your demon?"
