Every beginning has begun somewhere. Every end has an end.
It all started and ended in 221B Baker Street.
Endings can lead to better beginnings.
Beginnings precede and follow the inevitable end.
The beginning of another end started on the birth of a new day.
The summer sun had barely risen when soft, uneven footsteps crossed the emptiness of Baker Street. The familiar door signed as 221B was under the warm blanket of dawn. The figure stood facing it, seemingly pondering its next decision. The doorbell was rung and all was undisturbed except a dark haired man with pointed features looking out from the window above.
The door was opened by the landlady in her nightgown. A smile appeared on her face once the confusion passed.
"He'll be upstairs." She said, letting him enter.
"Sorry for the sudden arrival, Mrs. Hudson."
"No problem at all, John. Do you need help with anything?"
"No, I think I can manage, thank you."
A look of uncertainty crossed the old woman.
"Just let me warn you. The place isn't exactly how you left it."
It didn't bother John much. He knew from experience just how untidy his old flatmate was--especially while he was carried away. He pushed open the old door and stepped in.
"Bloody Hell, Sherlock! The mess!"
