The train was stopped now, paramedics, police officers, and news crews were swarming the
area. Through the dark, I saw two mangled bodies. Apparently, so did Ryan and he cried out when
he recognized his body. I was a goner. Mangled and ripped apart. I smiled, though. We succeeded
in one thing while everyone else told us we'd never succeed in anything. I squeezed his body,
kissing his head. Then, he began pulsating. He looked up at me, confused. Below us, paramedics
surrounded a smaller but less ruined body. Gripping him tighter, I nuzzled into his hair. He pulsed
again and one of the medics yelled something. I realized they were trying to revive him. They
eventually gave up and I lifted Ryan, his legs around my waist. He weighed basically nothing. He
rested his head on my shoulder, arms around my neck, and whispered "I love you." I murmured it back
and started walking away. We are Lyric and Ryan, and we are Fallen Angels.
