I waited while it was still ringing.Pick up...
Finally she answered.
"Mom! What's with all this freaking wedding talk huh?' I asked hurriedly.
I just sneaked into my room in middle of classes to get this all over with and if I get busted....there's nothing much for me to say.
Probably detention for a life time or even worse. They'll hand me over to gran in a blink of an eye."Mom?" No one answered from the other end. What if this is gran on the line. What if-
I heard someone laugh hoarsely.
"Who are you? Give the phone back to the queen" I ordered.
"Aye aye captain." A familiar voice sneered again.
"Jeff?"
"Don't worry stupid. No man could top your handsome brother in beauty." As doubted it was Jeff goofing around like a five year old.
"Give the phone to mom or else-"
"Or else what?" He asked mockingly.
I swear I'd beat him in whole once I step in there."Or else I'll tell you-know-who some secrets you haven't told" I said devilishly.
"You-know-who as in Voldemort?" he said as he broke into another chain of hysteria. Yeah right. Very funny.
"You wish" I retorted.
"Oooh I'm getting goosebumps over here" he said ignoring my threats.
"Oh yeah. Save some for later, when I tell Lia, about that day when.....well you know.....that day where you-"
This made him shut his big fat mouth that kept on laughing. Lia is Jeff 's wife. The kind of wife I idolize.
She's cute beautiful and a control freak. It was no secret that brother loves her and fears her a at the same time.
So she was my only hope to get what I want from him.
"Okay okay chill." he said timidly. " M-o-m? Stupid wants to talk to you!"
I heard mom screaming from afar, and then came her sweet voice trickling out the receiver.
Her voice sounded even sweeter with all the yelling aimed at Jeff the jerk.
"Emma is that you honey?" Tears formed in the corner of my eyes.
"Yeah mom." My voice cracked.
"Honey, we missed you so much. How's the food? Are you fine with all the canteen food and-"
"Mom everything's great. I just wanted to ....Um. ..know whether the...." I didn't know whether this was the right time to ask about that, because I was talking to her after a long time, with her and dad being all busy with other stuff.
" You heard? Honey I'm so sorry. You know how stubborn that woman is. But don't you worry because I had her promising me that he wouldn't turn out to be some old man with a walking stick."
I smiled weakly.
"Thanks mom." The way she said it made it clear that gran wasn't ready to change any of her decisions right now and mom had no chance in talking her out of it..
"Mom is he a student at our school?" I asked timidly.
"I think so"
