Devyn's POV

"Devyn I don't want you too-" Blake said

"Fall for him? Trust me, I think I can handle myself." I snapped before walking away.

I walked past Hunter before I heard him kick his weight off the wall and follow me out the back door.

I walked onto the porch and rested my arms on the wooden railing.

"So you know Blake," His voice gave me a jolt of excitement. The thickness of it made me think there why a story to how his cocky tone came so naturally.

"I have for seven years," I replied and spun around to face him.

His hands were shoved into his pockets and his bottom lip was in between his teeth. His eyes were dark green but lit up with every step he took onto the lit up porch. His height made him maybe five inches taller than me.

"Wonder why I've never seen you," he said and I surged.

"Blake liked to think I'm fragile. He liked to keep me locked away from people that he thinks will get to me," I said and he cocked his head to the side a bit.

"I haven't had the best past." I said and he nodded.

"Has anyone truly had a good past," he asked and I smiled a bit.

"I suppose not," I said and he laughed.

-

I laughed loudly at absolutely nothing before Hunter shook his head at me.

"Remind me to never smoke with you again," he said and I smiled.

"Does that mean you're going to spend more time with me," I asked before taking another drag.

"If you're lucky enough," he said and I rolled my eyes.
