Reunited

It's the year 2026 and I get back from another exhausting day of med school. Alex doesn't get back from work for a while so I head to the kitchen of our tiny apartment and let out Buster. I give him some puppy kibble and start eating some leftovers from the fridge. I mindlessly scroll through Facestater and my eyes land on my old friend Kirsten's picture. She's one of my many friends from our old neighborhood. Mayfair. It's her with her students and some books. A smirk crawls onto my face. I always knew she was going to teach kids how to read. She always had it in her. I keep scrolling and start thinking about all my other ex neighbors from my childhood. I decided to call her and see what's up. We started talking about random stuff like we always do, but then we came up with the idea of a Mayfair reunion. I double checked my contacts and found out that I still had the rest of them in there. I then proceeded to put them in a group chat to give them Kirsten and my idea about a reunion. As I pressed send and closed my phone, I sat in complete awe and couldn't stop my self from smiling.
