Chapter 2

It's always hard to keep your lifestyle a secret. Sooner or later, people start to notice things. Like how you don't gain weight, even though you almost never participate in gym class. People notice more than you might think. It's becoming a problem for me.

If you haven't guessed by now, let me start by telling you that any food that I eat, gets thrown up into a toilet or a trash can. I don't have a choice though. Not if I want to have the perfect figure for when I get accepted into a modeling school. They won't accept fat kids. I hate society.

I sigh as I lay back on my bed, gazing at my ceiling and thinking about my issues. This happens way to often. I need help.

The buzzing of my phone distracts me, and when I look down, I see it's a text from Matt.

'Want to hang out?'

'Sure,' I reply.

'Be there in 20,' he says.

After about 15 minutes, I finally decide I should probably get up and change for when Matt gets here, considering I'm in nothing but a tank top and underwear.

6 minutes later, the doorbell rings and I'm rushing down the stairs to answer the door for Matt. When I fling open the door, Matt is outside waiting for me with his car keys in his hand.

"I'm going out with Matt, mom! I'll be back later," I yell into the house.

I shut the front door and walk down to Matt's car, opening the door and climbing in.

"So where are we headed M?" I ask him.

"It's top secret Riles," he answers, adding a wink afterwards.

This is why I love Matt. Not in that way, but as a best friend or a brother. He always knows the right thing to do or say. We're always going on adventures and having fun.

"Buckle up Princess," he smirks, "and get ready for one hell of a ride."

I laugh and roll down my window as we hit the freeway. Oh yes, I definitely smell adventure!
