He strode to a wall, moving quick and with purpose, grabbing a fold up chair concealed in the shadows of the dungeon. Placing it in the middle of the room, he sat down, and cold eyes fell on Allison once more. The dim light only aided in pronouncing his fierce features, casting dramatic shadows across his hard, expressionless face.
"My name is Erik, and I'm a business man... of sorts."
He paused momentarily, flashing a wicked smile. Allison's stomach churned.
"Your father and I worked together and have had a mutualistic relationship up until this point. However, in light of recent events, your father has proven that he cannot be trusted. The problem is, I've invested time and money into that man. The latter of which I aim to retrieve. He, on the other hand, has a differing opinion and has made it clear that he does not plan to, let's say, return what is mine."
Another knowing look gleams in his dark eyes.
"That's where you come in," he starts again, "if he's not willing to come clean on his own free will, then I have to take the necessary steps in order to... secure my investments."
Allison's mind had been racing since the moment the mysterious man begun talking, but she forced herself to remain calm and listen intently to his words. Anything to increase her chances of making it out of this nightmare alive. Now that Erik had finished his speech, the confused girl voiced her concerns.
"You must have the wrong person," she stated, her voice sounded weaker than she'd wanted it to be, "I haven't seen my father since I was 3 years old when he left my mother and I."
The thought of her mother sent a wave of pain through her body, wondering if she would ever see the women who raised her again.
"Oh no, i've definitely got the right girl Miss Bennett. I had my top guys track you down. Not too hard considering the social media driven world we live in. In fact, I probably could have found you myself with a mere Facebook search," he laughed dryly, "well, you're here now. That's all that counts."
With the flash of another wicket grin, the cynical man stood and returned the chair to its original position before heading towards the exist.
Frantic, the bound girl pleaded with her captor, "No- wait! You don't understand, my father doesn't care about me, that's why he left. Blackmailing him with me won't work."
Hands gripping the metal rings, Erick turned and locked intense eyes with her, "You better hope to hell it does."
With that he begun his ascend to the outside world, a world in which Allison prayed to God she would see again.
