"Lina! I want my coffee NOW!"

I groaned as his voice ran through the speaker of the phone. I HATE working for this asshole of a boss named Liam Payne. True, I did bully him back in high school, but that was because there was absolutely no way in hell I was going to prom with someone who was dorky as him. Just not happening. So, I slowly made my way over to Liam's office and knocked on the door, hesitantly waiting for him to open up. He opened the door, revealing him in a black suit with a black tie against his red dress shirt underneath. "I have your coffee Mr. Payne." "Great! I need those reports you've been working on by three o'clock this afternoon," he said and smiled his usual fake smile. "Will do sir!" I said with fake cheeriness. "Oh, Lina?" "Yes Mr. Payne?" He smirks and tells me to come over to his desk. "Why don't you go and give me those reports now doll?" I glared at him and walked away. Boy, did I hate him with a passion.

~Time skip to a few hours later~

I was on my way out of the building when I heard "Hey, do you need a ride home?" Liam asked, feigning kindness. "No, I don't actually, but thanks for trying to give a shit." He smirked and bowed. "Thank you m'lady. Now if you'll excuse me, I'll be heading home now," and he walks away, with a freaking strut. I walk home, being so overly annoyed by his presence, that I trip and fall. Great, just my luck. Luckily, I didn't sprain my ankle, so I just got up and kept walking until I reached my destination.

I got home to find my cat, Shamrock in the floor. I'm Irish, German, and American, but mostly Irish. "Such a cute kitty." I said while petting him. I'm originally from Dublin, but I lost my accent and moved to New York to pursue my career: a publisher. I love writing. It's always been my passion; reading and writing trashy teen novels for the younger generation, because why not?

I go over to the fridge to see a note from my room mate, Chad. Chad has always been a nice guy, but ever since his girlfriend dumped him, he's tried to "put the moves" on me. The note says:

Dear Lina,

I moved to Chicago for my nursing job. I get better pay over there. Sorry for the inconvenience.

~Chad

Great. Just my luck. Now I have to find a new room mate. So, I decided to do it later on tonight. So I begin the process of making dinner. My friends Amber and Sydney were coming over later on tonight, so I decided to make homemade pizza.

Just as I took it out of the oven, I heard a knock on my door. That's strange I thought. My friends don't knock on the door. I walk to the door and open it, only to see my mother. "Is everything OK Mom?" She looks at me and says solemnly, "Your father and I are getting a divorce." I then begin to sob. "N-No! This can't be happening!!! You promised me!!" She sighs and walks away, but not before she gives me a hug and whispers "I have full custody of you baby." I close the door, go over to the couch, and ball up and cry like a huge baby, because my life has officially gotten worse.

Just, then my friends barge in and the surround me, hugging me. "We're here for you hun." Sydney says, meaning it with every word she spoke from her mouth. See, we were all friends since freshman year in high school, well Amber and I were. Sydney was practically my sister. You see, we've been best friends since the fourth grade. She knew me and I knew her. Amber and I knew each other like that too. Sydney went on to become an amazing part time pianist and FBI agent, while Amber went on to become a big name on Broadway. And still, they hang out with silly old me, a publisher. New York is a great place and all, but even then, I still here some stuff through the walls, if you know what I mean. It's really gross, so I just turn on music to drown out the noise.

Anyway, so we had some of the amazing pizza when Amber spoke up. "Hey, don't you work with Liam Payne?" I sigh and nodded, feeling a little sick to my stomach. "Do you know if he's single?" "Amber!" "What? Just asking. He's really hot and I just wanted to know..." she trailed off, deep in thought. They are my friends and although I do admit he's hot, he is such a douchebag. He tried asking out Sydney to prom and she went with him, only to spill juice on her dress. It was a total accident she claims, but I think he had motives. After we eat, we watch a F.R.I.E.N.D.S marathon when Sydney said "I think we need to hit the sack. Goodnight Lina!" and they walked out the door.

After a nice, hot shower, I began collecting my thoughts and went online to find a roommate. So, I kept searching and searching until my hearts skipped a beat. No I thought. It can't be! Why the hell is he looking for a roommate? As I stared at my computer screen more and more, I began to feel the need to lose my dinner. Liam fucking Payne was looking for a roommate, and he just sent me a request.
