Chapter 3 - The Formal

Thecar stopped at market square, Jordan looked around the beautifulgarden until her eyes looked in on her father opening the door. Shehopped out of the car, fixed up her long red dress and began to walktowards the group of teens dressed in formal attire followed by hermother taking photos.

Jordan'sface lit up like a candle as she rushed over to hug her friendChelsea who wore a long black dress, after complementing each otherthey posed taking both formal and goofy photos laughing in theprocess. Afterwards Jordan continued to walk closer to the large treethat stood in the centre of the garden until her smile drew larger atthe sight of Dawson walking towards her.

Jordan'smother noticed this and asked ''Would you like a photo with him?''Jordan looked at her mother then back at him ''He probably wouldn'twant to'' she answered causing her smile to disappear ''come on let'stry'' replied her mum. Jordan walked along side her mother nervouslytowards Dawson and took a deep breath as she heard her mother ask''excuse me but can I get a photo of you to?''.

Dawsonsmiled at the sight of Jordan and answered ''sure and its lovely tomeet you misses Elliott'' this made Jordan smile as they stood infront of the tree and waited for the flash from her mother'scamera. ''Alright well you two have fun I gotta go to work I'll pickyou up at 11 ok Jordan'' said her mother as she put away her camera.''If you'd like I can take her home'' interrupted Dawson ''I see noproblem with that as long as she's home by 11'' she replied andhugged her daughter and mouthed ''you're welcome'' as she walkedback to the car.

''Sowould you like to walk with me to city beach?'' Dawson asked Jordan''I would love to'' she replied with a gentle smile as they walkedthrough what looked like the Garden of Eden when Dawson saidnervously. ''I didn't wanna say this until your mother wasn't aroundbut you look so beautiful'', ''why thank you Dawson'', shepaused and then continued ''I think you look handsome''. Dawsonsmiled and said ''thanks when I was getting ready my younger brotherasked me if I was getting married'' ''I guess if you were you'dhave your pick of girls to marry'' Jordan replied with a smirk.''well if I were I've got a pretty good idea of who that wouldbe'' Dawson said with a smile this in turn started to make Jordanblush and laugh as they continued to walk into the function centreholding hands.

Dawsonlet go of her hand as they waited in line and checked their tables,both Jordan and Dawson's smile quickly disappeared when they realisedtheir tables were on the other side of the function.

Dawsonsat down as he shook the hand of Ryan who sat next to him. ''Hey govhow are you doing?'' Ryan had asked ''I'm ok'' Dawsonpaused looked directly at Jordan until she caught him looking at hercausing her to smile and slightly blush ''I'm alright'' heanswered with a frown. Ryan looked in the general direction of whereDawson was looking, smiled and began to probe ''so Jordan looksnice tonight'' ''yeah she does'' replied Dawson with asmile.

''Sowhat's got you down kiddo'' Ryan asked as his partner sat downto join them holding his hand in the process. ''I don't know gov Iguess it's because I was hoping to sit next to Jordan, I didn'teven get a chance to ask for her number'' replied Dawson Ryan lookedat Jordan then back to Dawson. Finally he looked around and noticedthe dance floor and a piano then to his partner who smiled as if theywere both thinking the same thing.

FinallyRyan looked at Dawson's moppy face and said ''well... Who said youwon't, you still have the whole night to ask her'', Dawson's moppyface began to disappear as his head lifted straight up and thenturned to his friend and said ''that's true'' he paused and thenasked ''but how can I do that?'' this made Dawson wonder.''Alright listen we have a plan so listen carefully'' said Ryan as heheld Lucy's hand. After hearing the plan from Ryan Dawson took asip from his drink of coke, stood up and walked over to Jordan'stable in the mean time Ryan walked over to the DJ and was about askhim to turn off his music but then as he went to Lucy ran outside.Dawson arrived at Jordan's table asked if he could join her afterbeing accepted the two began to talk and laugh.
