A Girl Named Hailey

7- Bad News

*Everyone is in the waiting room except Hailey. Max sees her run by the window crying and asks if he can be excused. Doctor Chestnut enters the waiting room.*

Mrs. Franklins: How'd the surgery go?

Doctor Chestnut: *Looks in her eyes long and hard then looks at the floor*

Mrs. Franklins: NO IT CAN'T BE TRUE!!! WE TRUSTED YOU!!! WHAT AM I GOING TO TELL MAX!!! HE'S ONLY 15!!! WHAT AM I GOING TO.

Doctor Chestnut: I'm sorry. We did everything we could. We removed the clot. I told one of the nurses to stitch him up while I went to wash up. While closing him up his blood pressure began to drop. His heart stopped so we hand pumped it for a while. We never got his pulse back. 

Mrs. Franklins: * Wipes the tears from her eyes* Ok, I believe you. 

                                             *Meanwhile in a hallway*

Max: HAILEY STOP RUNNING!!

Hailey: *Stops running and turns to face Max*

Max: Hailey... What happened back there?

Hailey: H..H.. He died. He died Max. He died. 

Max: Wha...What... How?

Hailey: I don't know. They got the clot out and then they were getting ready to close him up and he just died.

Max: I don't know what I'm going to do with out him. My mom has probably snapped already. She's going to send me to my grandparents. I hate them.

Hailey: I know what it's like to have to trade the ones that you love for the ones you hate. ( P!ATD Reference).

Max: *Stares into Hailey's eyes* *Leans in*

Hailey: *Leans in* *Kisses Max*

Max: *Kisses back*

Hailey: *Breaks the kiss and looks at Max* It's going to be ok.

Max: I hope so.

Hailey: It will. I have physical and mental pains from the pass. I know trust me it gets better. You just have to find the right person.

Max: *Smiles and leans in for another kiss*
