Chapter Two; The Tragedy

That was our first day of being a sophomore, I didn't like the fact about going to a public school but Zaine convinced me to go. Lucky for me that Zaine and I have the same classes together. Yay! He was my only friend, the best friend I could ever ask for. I just wish I could be stronger so I don't have to rely on him all of the time.

We sat next to each other in English, its only our first day and the teacher is scolding someone, for just being a little late.

Zaine whispered, “Hey Alice.”

“Yes?” I replied with a little smile. He always made me smile, even when i'm down he still manages to make it happen.

“Wanna ditch? Since it looks like Tubby McFat Fuck other there isn't going to shut up.”

I laughed. “Yes, please.”

We stood up and pushed in our chairs, and the teacher didn't even seem to notice. When we started walking everyone was staring at us. The girls in there gave me a look of hate. I don't even know who they were. Some were probably also staring at me because of my eye patch, when that rock got thrown at my eye. But, from what I heard, when Zaine was in middle school so many girls tried to ask him out, or get close to him but he always turned them down... I wonder why.

We stood in the middle of the hallway wondering what to do.

“Hey, want to go to the vending machines?” Zaine asked.

“Hell yeah!” I busted out. “I want some food!” We sped walked towards the vending machines. I always had a big appetite.

When we got to the machines, I gazed at the food selection, I didn't know what to choose. Zaine took out his wallet and pulled out a crisp dollar with a little change and fed it into the machine. He bought a bag of pretzels and shoved them in my face.

“Here, you're eating these. You always take so long to decide.” Zaine said with his cute smile.

I opened the bag and slowly started eating the pretzels. We sat in between the two vending machines, the one filled with food and the soda machine. We were snuggled up right against each other, it made my heart race.

We heard a group of people giggle, they were probably around the corner, looks like we aren't the only troublemakers. Out of curiousity I peeked my head a little out to see who they were, just three boys. One was taller than the other two; he had dark brown hair and matching eye, and a devious smile. I didn't bother looking at the other people- the tall person had my full attention.

period. Boring! All everybody did the entire period was talk, including me The only one I talked to was Zaine.

RING, RING, RING.

School ended at last, it felt like I've been there for years. When the final bell ringed everyone just ran out of the classroom, including the damned teacher. Except for my and Zaine, we actually took time to pack our bags and stuff.

“Hey, Alice... there's something I want to ask you.” Zaine mumbled.

“What? Why are you mumbling?” I asked.

“Well you Alice... I-” Kevin and his gang busted through.

“Yo, yo, yo! What's up!? Jake yelled. I turned immediately pissed off, so did Zaine.

“What do you want” I hissed, it scared the crap out of me when I said that but I liked it.

Kevin looked surprised by me, that devilish smile of his came back with a hypnotizing gaze. His eyes stared straight at me but looked inside of me, I felt so uncomfortable. He started to walk over until Zaine stepped in his way.
