Prologue Ever since Jamie Severston was very young she has lived with her Aunt Jacqueline . Her parents, Marie and Harry, had died when she was young and she didn't remember them. Her parents drowned at a beach in the Florida Keys. They went on vacation for the weekend and they had left Jamie at her Aunt's in the Southern California. Her parents left her everything but also had a special note for a purple necklace.
The note said
"My Sweet Jamie, This necklace is for you when you turn 14. You will understand when you wear it. My journals are also for you to read. I have one for each year of my life and your aunt will give you one for each birthday starting when you are 10.
Love, Mom and Dad"
