My family is far from perfect.
My mom can't stop drinking. I beg her to wake up and see what's going on with her family. My dad is always with another woman behind my mother's back. My older brother smokes cannabis all day long, and there's nothing I can do about.
Everyone tells me my family is so perfect, like little dolls. If only they could see what I see. That behind these walls, these little dolls could not be more messed up.
I guess we do a pretty good job at hiding our imperfections. We can put on quite a show. Well get in our places and throw on a doll face. We'll smile for the picture. I'll pose with my brother and I'll be a good sister.
I just hope no one looks through the curtains.
People look at my mother and think that she's got it going on. But when you turn your back, she'll pull out her flask and forget my father's infidelity.
I know that one day someone will look through the curtains and see us for what we really are.
