DNA

When they got to Dante's house, the girls got to meet their foster family. Dante had two sons named Robert and Daniel. They were also 14 years old. Miranda thought Daniel was really cute and Nina thought the same of Robert. Dante's wife was very pretty. She had the same dirty blonde hair as Daniel and mysterious brown eyes as Robert, her name was Elena. The boys looked exactly like Dante with hints of Elena.

The boys were exceptionally nice to Miranda and Nina and gave them a tour of the house. Daniel tried to make conversation and asked Miranda where they were from. She didn't answer, for she had no idea. Daniel figured by the scared look on her face, he better not say anything more. Robert was skeptical about the girls and wondered what tonight would bring.

When they reached the spare bedroom, the boys left to let Nina and Miranda get comfortable. The room was just as nice as the rest of the house. there were bunk beds on one wall, a window seat on another and a closet on the same wall as the door. The beds were made with thick, fluffy black blankets and white sheets. The walls were white and the floor was hardwood. There was an area rug on the floor next to the bottom bunk with green and purple flowers on it.

After surveying the room, they went downstairs to the kitchen. The family was sitting at the kitchen table talking.

"I don't know how long they will be here, or what will happen in the next few days, but I do want you two to be nice to them." Dante said.

"That won't be a problem for Daniel..." Robert said giving his brother a dirty look.

Elena was the first to notice the girls. She asked them if they would like anytghing. Nina and Miranda shook their heads no in unison. Robert told them that they had just ordered pizza for dinner and that it should be there any minute. Nina stared quizzically at Robert. He just shook it off and promised her she would enjoy it.

when the pizza delivery man came, the twins were startled by the doorbell. Michael never had company, or atleast he never brought them to see the girls.

"i wonder what else he kept from us?" Nina thought to herself.

They loved the pizza, just as Robert said they would. After dinner, Robert and Daniel went upstairs to their room to do homework. Elena cleaned off the table and Miranda and Nina stayed downstairs to talk to their new foster parents.

"Dante, how and what is a dee-nen-ay sample?" Miranda asked.

Dante repplied, "Its called a DNA sample. it stands for Deoxyriboneucleic Acid. Its pretty much like what makes you, you. It mixes together your mom and dad and is helpful to tell who someone's parents are. there are many ways to get DNA from someone. they can get a lock of each of your hair, or they might just swab the inside of your cheek."

That night before bed, Elena came in and gave them each a pair of her own PJ's. They graciously accepted the soft sweatpants and teeshirts.

"Remember, if you ever need something, just ask me, Dante, or the boys." Elena said before she walked out of the room.

After they got changed, the boys came in to say goodnight and wish them good luck for tomorrow.

"I am scared..." Miranda said.

"Don't worry, Miranda. It will be fine." Robert said.
