I knew the day would come eventually. Deep down I always knew. But.... I always brushed it off. But still... I knew. I always did.

"So, how is his highness doing this beautiful morning?" The black-haired girl asks her monster lover as she hugs him from behind. The goat sighs as he stops frying the eggs on a frying pan and shifts his attention to her.

"So far, so good." He answers as he tries to wiggle out of her embrace.

"Do you know what day it is, my fluffy adorable badass?"

"It's 21th June right?" Asriel says trying to confirm his deduction.

"Yes!!! The summer is here, so everyone get out and grab your swimsuits and to the beach!" Nilu yells excitedly as jumping backwards and pointing to the distance.

"wow what got you so worked up?" Sans asks her as he pulls out a bottle of ketchup from the fridge.

"I think it is a sign that she is perfectly healthy, isn't that right my child?" Toriel smiles as she enters the kitchen.

"Your highness!! We want to help you prepare breakfast!!" Undyne and Papyrus rush into the kitchen full of energy.

"S-sorry, I couldn't stop her." Alphys dressed in her cute pink pyjamas apologizes as she slowly steps into the kitchen.

"This going to be a long day." Asriel mutters to himself.

I knew....I knew.... Deep down I knew that dreams are just illusions waiting to be crushed by the brutal reality. Screw duty, screw responsibility! We could have been happy!

"Being back here, sure brings a lot of memories." Asriel said as we snuggled on "my" old bed in a room that I used when I was finishing highschool.

"Yeah, all those all-nighters because of math tests, all the cuddle sessions and of course the "practicing"." I reply with closed eyes as my head rests on his chest.

"I am happy that you brought me back." Asriel whispers quietly and I smile.

"So am I Azzy, so am I." I reply as I boop his snout.

"Good night, Nilu."

"Good night, my fluffy adorable badass."

You left me alone because of your duty and responsibilities. Did I really matter that little to you? You wanted to protect me, you wanted to keep me safe, but in the end you hurt me more than anyone ever could.
