for those of y'all that don't know, shit has been going down with got7 recently
ok lemme explain
so the boys are/were in LA for #FlyInLA, and they were hanging with mark's American friends or whateva
one girl, her name is Wendy I think, posted a snapchat story that included the boys and hoooo shit went up in flames once it spread
1. bambam said a slur in one of the videos. u can find it on @/kysarmyss on ig. people went OFF bc the n word is not something to be thrown about lightly if you're not black.
— my opinion on this: bambam fucked up. he fucked up and he should apologize for it. however, that does not mean he is a literal piece of garbage. he is human, and he makes mistakes. now he should educate himself on why that slur is not something non-black people should use, and hopefully he does not use it again in the future.
2. yugyeom apparent looks drunk. in one of the snapchats he looks out of it. again you can find this video on the ig acc I mentioned above
— my opinion on this: yugyeom shouldn't have been drinking. he may be legal in Korea but he was in LA at the time he was "drunk" (there's not actual proof he was tho) where the legal age is 21. I can only hope that he was just tired or smth, and not actually drunk. like bambam this does not make him a bad person bc he wasn't hurting anyone or anything. this just means he made a bad choice and was unfortunately caught on camera. but again this is just a speculation bc there's not actual proof he was drunk
3. mark and his friends are absolute snakes. mark grew up in California. he knows what the n word means. he shouldve told bambam not to use it. as for mark's friends, they're disgusting bc they're exploiting got7 (Wendy posting those snapchats, showcasing a bad image of them. jyp must be going batshit crazy bc they are idols and have a reputation to maintain) and are a bad influence on bambam and yugyeom. (this might be a little off, I'm just rephrasing what I've seen on ig)
— my opinion on this: yeah I kinda agree. mark shouldve said something. however, I feel like his friends are more at fault? there's been plenty of posts that show mark's friends using the n slur years back, and they're Americans, they know what it means. so why did they tell bambam it was ok to use/continually use it to the point where bambam thought it was ok to use himself? that it meant 'my brother' (as some people have claimed in bambam's defense), that is commonly used in America so it's ok to say (which it isn't), and not a derogatory racial slur used against black people? it's really messed up got7's reputation amongst intl fans (not too sure abt knetz tho, but I'm sure they and jyp whoop got7's asses once they go back to Korea) and I feel like mark's friends don't really care that they've damaged their image, considering Wendy is still public and deleting comments (or so I've heard) concerning the snapchats and the others haven't spoken out about any of this
— closing thoughts: I still stan got7 and I love them with all my heart (glad I'm a youngjae stan tho lol I don't even think he was at the party) but I have to admit they made (terrible) mistakes and they're gonna get ripped apart for it whether they apologize or not.
disclaimer: don't quote me on anything. this stuff is just my opinion, which had been formed through what I've seen on ig and the videos I've seen. I'm telling you this is just an opinion, and I'm in no way shape or form trying to slander got7, mark's friends, or anyone relating to this matter. it's just my personal stance on this whole controversy—and you're entitled to your own opinion on this mess, as am I. it's 3 am so this is literally just me babbling.
