Lacey couldn't help but get up and follow this pitch black silhouette that looked like it belonged to a male. She turned the corner to catch up to this mysterious figure. "So the hooker is stalking me now?" He yelled back at her, without turning towards the street. Hooker?! What! " I just want to have some fun" Lacey replied giggling between words. The mystery man could smell the stench of alcohol on her breath even from a couple feet away. Eventually he turned to face her, and Lacey taken a back by his face whispered "Oh". He hollered at her for a moment, but she completely spaced out, trying to remember where she saw his face before. " I know you" she snapped. Oh shit, did she really say that out loud? "Excuse me?" He proclaimed "I don't hang out with junkies" But Lacey knew him, she remembered seeing those furrowed eyebrows with those sparkly eyes. "Wait, Tyler?" He seemed to not care that she had said his name. "Oh you must be a fan, I'm so sorry, did you want a picture or autograph?" "It's me Lacey, Elementary school???" She waited, desperately hoping that she could jog his memory. "Lacey as in Lacey Black?" He seemed confused... As if she looked like a different person now. He pondered that thought. The Lacey I knew was a little nerdy girl with golden locks, this girl is a junkie full figured woman. Can't be the same girl... "Wow Tyler, can I buy you a drink? Maybe some coffee?" The words escaped her moth before she could think twice. "I really should be going" he turned back at her and saw a look of defeat in her face. " Actually a cup of coffee wouldn't hurt right now." She gestured towards this small cafe that looked as if it was closing. She knocked on the door, jingling the little bells hanging over her head. The man cleaning inside nodded to her and turned the lights back on. With a curious looking smile she invited Tyler to sit across from her in the booth. As he sat her heart fluttered, unknowingly she grabbed the salt shaker and whispered "Remember doing this every Friday at Mary's Diner?" She coughed loudly and started giggling. "Oh yep that is definitely not sugar" Tyler let out a grin but quickly subsided his amusement and held out a napkin for her. " So what are you doing in these parts of town this late?" To be fair it was 12:00 am and she was still out sitting on the corner. "I'm on tour and we just happened to stop here instead of Columbus" Lacey nodded but was baffled that he was actually on tour. The little boy who will sing nursery rhymes with her is now singing a at concerts. "Wow, never thought you would perform professionally, I always thought you were going to end up with a basketball in one hand and a trophy in the other" she laughed remembering the basketball tournament that her elementary school held each year. "Yeah, my dreams changed I guess" he replied joyfully but Lacey could tell he said it with a hint of sorrow.
