Chapter 3

❄Snowballs and fun times❄

Jack laughed to himself as he flew away from the school. Children were now playing in he snow, enjoying their snow day. He landed on a top of a tree and looked out at the

snow-covered town. He stood there for a while and thought to himself.

"It would be great to have someone here with me." "Someone to talk to, and to laugh with." "I need a friend." He thinks all this to himself. He sighed and got up. He brushed himself off and flew back to his tree. He slept on the tree by Jamie's window even since they defeated Pitch. He just wanted to make sure that Jamie was safe.

He watched Jamie sleep through the window and played with his staff. He loved watching Jamie. Something about him just made Jack happy. Probably because Jamie was the first kid to believe in him.

"North says not to get too attached to the children because they grow older and stop believing." Jack says out loud but really no one can hear. "You're not going to stop believing in me." "Right, Jamie?" Jamie turned in his sleep and sighed. Jack sat there until the sun started to come up and then flew away.

He flew for a while and saw people leaving their houses for work. He iced the roads as he flew and laughed. He flew to a small island with a huge castle in the middle and looked around. There were people running around and fanning themselves from the heat.

Jack smiled and started to frost the streets and people slipped and fell. He laughed and flew to a tree and sat down. Kids ran down the street and one looked up and waved at him. It took him a while before he registered that the child could see him. He waved back and grinned as the kid ran off with his friends.

It was only six months ago when Jack and the other guardians defeated Pitch and people started to believe in him. So whenever a child saw him, it always took him be surprise.

Jack got up from the tree and flew around for a bit. He watched people on the ground run around and play. He chuckled and watched a boy throw a snowball in a girls face and she started to cry. Jack flew down and threw one of his snowflakes at her and it hit her nose. Her eyes sparkled and her started to laugh. She bent down and made a snowball and threw it at the boy and they both laughed. Jack chuckled started to make tons of snowballs as they threw more and more at each other. After they started to become tired and slowed down, Jack flew off back to Jamie's house.

He looked through the window and saw Jamie coming into his room and sat down on the bed. He pulled out papers and crayons and he started to color. Jack smiled and watched him color. He yawned and closed his eyes. After a few minutes Jack came into the room and picked up his drawings. One caught his attention and he pulled it out.

It was a picture of a boy with brown hair, that Jack assumed it was Jamie. He was hugging a girl with short brown hair that fell just below her shoulders. She looked somewhat familiar but she was justa drawing. Above the two children was a boy with white hair and a dark blue sweatshirt. He was holding a curved stick and smiling. Jack chuckled at the boy that was clearly supposed to be him. But off in the distance was a girl. She looked angry and was holding a sword. She had long, VERY long, blonde hair and she was wearing a purple dress. She had the sword up in the air like she was about to kill someone....

Jack shuttered at the odd picture and set it down. He walked back over to Jamie and laid him down on his bed. He tucked him in and climbed out the window. Still thinking about the picture Jack sat down on the roof. He laid down and closed his eyes.

In the morning Jack flew down to the window and sent in a light breeze to wake Jamie up. He jump out of bed and started getting ready for school. Jack sat in the tree, out of sight and flowed him to the kitchen. His mom was cooking breakfast and Sophie was sitting in her high chair. She had a bowl of cerial in frost of her and she scooped it up in her hands. She spilt it everywhere and laughed. Jack walked behind her and ruffled her hair. She giggled and look up at him. Her smiles at tired to grab his hand but he quickly pulled it away.

Jamie sat down and waited for his food. His mom turned around and set a plate down in front of Jamie. Jack made a face as he looked over at his food. "Eggs... Bacon... Orange juice... Bisects and gravy...." He muttered and looked up. "Hey, where the cookies?" "North would not be pleased with this meal!" He shouted in mock outrage and Sophie clapped and cheered. Jamie looked around and Jack hid around the corner so he wouldn't be seen. Jamie looked back down at his food and started eating. Jack bent down and whispered in Sophie's ear. "I'll be back later Soph." She smiled up at him and he grinned back at her as we flew out of the room.

Jack flew high up in the sky and did flips. He laughed the whole time and he flew up making pictures in the sky with his staff. He started to do loops and the hairs on the back of his neck stood up. He quickly stopped and looked around but saw no one that seemed like a threat. He spotted something move behind a building, that looked somewhat like.... Hair! Jack flew down to the ground and ran to the building. He braced himself for what was behind the corner and jumped out from the wall.
