"Beatrix? Are you ready?"
How could I ever be ready? Can one even get ready when dining with hell? What do you wear? How do you act? Do you smile and act polite? Or do you simply just grab him by the horns and teach him a lesson?
The answer was simple, you don't. You dont really do anything besides getting dressed nicely and then waiting. You can't simply prepare for dining with the devil, so you just get ready and then you just, well wait.
"Beatrix Rowan Feelds, are you ready? Or am I going to have to go up there and drag you downstairs by the ear?" Yelled my mother.
"Mother, I've been ready for the past hour now if you could kindly untwist your panties then I'd gladly come down." I retorted. Geez, this lady can sure get on my nerves.
"You change that attitude of yours or you will not live to see another day." She said as entered my room with a glare that would definitely have me dead if looks could kill. But, thank the heavens, they cannot.
"Yes, mother I will oh so graciously change my so called 'attitude' just for you. Since I'm having attitude problems on this fine night I think that I should be exempted from dining with you and the Collins'" I knew I was pushing it but I couldn't help to push her buttons.
"Beatrix, you're pushing it. I'm out of patience and if you don't shut that mouth of yours you will pay for it. I didn't raise you to be like this. Now if you could get the table set I'd appreciate it." Mother said lowly.
Usually this wouldn't affect me but that one little comment seemed to tick me off. "Don't you even dare say that you raised me because we both know that's bullshit. Don't say what's not true because I don't have time for lies. Now could you move out of the doorway so that I can get this shit over with?" I didn't even wait for a reply as I stomped away from her.
My mother and I are close but not as close as a mother and daughter could get. We've had what you could say is a rough past and well sometimes we can hit a bump, such as now. What can I say the industry changes you for the worse.
The sound of the doorbell was enough to snap me out my thoughts and back into reality. Walking away from the table I was midway through setting, I went and opened the door revealing three polite smiles.
"Beatrix? Beatrix, is that you my dear? My how you've grown!" said Mrs. Collins.
"Yeah! It's me and I go by Bea now"
"Oh my! How could I forget? You don't like being called Beatrix. My how things haven't changed." Mrs. Collins said.
"Well, how rude of me come in! Mother is in the kitchen but I can show you to the dining room." I said.
I stepped aside, allowing for them to come in before I closed the door behind them. I hadn't even glanced at him and I wasn't even planning on doing so. I led them to the dining room where mother had set all the food down and damn was it a lot.
"Bae, how are you? Long time no see, huh?" Mr. Collins asked.
"I'm doing great, how about you sir?" I asked forcing a smile.
"I'm doing just fine haven't seen you in a while. My boy here tells me you're still friends, isn't that right Blaise?" Mr. Collins says.
"We're the greatest of friends. Two peas in a pod!" I don't even have to look up from my lap to know that Blaise is looking at me.
Tonight is going to be harder than I anticipated. I hope I can make it through dinner with hell and its parents, no offense Mr. and Mrs. Collins but you're son is satans reincarnation.
