Draco's P.O.V

It figures Astoria would have time traveling gizmos and I also predicted that Blaise would puke on Potter not because of any animosity between the two but rather the fact that his shoes were practically across from Blaise's projectile range. The thing that no one could have predicted was being able to watch a replay of my misfortune earlier today. I could almost feel the pain all over again, I really should have seen it coming though any time a female throws a punch it always hits me in the face. I would say its because I have a magnetic personality but in truth it's probably karma being a right git to me. We snuck away from the scene and made it too the pumpkin patch where Buckbeak lay awaiting his fate. My tone was sure as I said, "So what's our game plan because I'm up for anything at this point." I then turned my hard gaze to Astoria and said, "Just for the record its your fault that I'm now some insane hero who's ready to give his life at the drop of a hat." She snorted and said, "Dear Draco if I hadn't come along and changed your perspective there is no telling what Mione and her friends might have done to your gittish arse." Well, drat she's right again, why does it always end this way for me.

Granger had her thinking face on next to me and said, "Why aren't we leaving?" My eyes fell on the executioner walking down the hill with his big axe and it was a really big axe. Granger them picked up a pebble and winged it in the hut, it broke the same orange clay pot it did earlier today. My eyes fell on a snail curled in its shell laying on a huge pumpkin, I picked it up and lobbed it at the back of Potters head and he turned to look out the window. A snigger escaped me and I said, "What's wrong Potter have a headache?" He glared at me and grabbed another snail and winged it at my head and I said, "You scare headed jerk face that was you?" Potter smirked a smirk that would make a Slytherin proud and said, "I'm just returning the favor Malfoy" Stupid Potter and his stupid scare head, we exited the hut and the next part of the plan was about to begin.

My eyes fell on Buckbeak who had gotten up to preen and look in our direction, Astoria put her hand on my shoulder and said, "Don't worry guys I can handle this part on my own" She carefully made her way over to the heartbroken Hippogriff and began to whisper in that way that seemed to have all the animals at her beck and call. Buckbeak walked right up to her and she broke the chain with a well aimed reducto and led our fine feathered friend into the forest. We followed right behind her as she escaped. The executioner walked out right as we disappeared into the trees and brought his weapon down on a pumpkin since he was enraged.

We jogged to the forested area to the side of the Whomping Willow, it would be awhile before sunset and the rise of a cold and vicious full moon. Potter and Granger sat huddled together and were whispering things to each other not in a romantic way but rather in a deep friendship kind of way. Astoria stood and began to walk away from the scene toward a tiny pond and then took a seat on the log by it. I stood and followed her, she had her head in her hands and looked to be reliving a terrible nightmare.

My hand landed gently on her shoulder and I said in a soft tone, "Love are you alright, your starting to scare me?" She looked up and shook the mist from her eyes and said, "I'm alright Draco, just thinking about the night--I mean some bad memories are bugging me. It's probably due to the Dementors." She almost slipped but I decided not to per sue this particular opening in her defense because it seemed to upset her deeply. My best guess was that her parents were murdered by death eaters. I took a seat next to her and conjured a blanket since it was starting to get chilly. She then practically feel over and laid her head on my shoulder and said, "I'm going to have a quick nap, to try and shake off this bad feeling. If that's alright with you." My tone was still soft as I said, "What's wrong is the little princess tired?" My words fell upon deaf ears since she was already sound asleep. I transfigured the log into a couch so she would be more comfortable and then I placed a light kiss on her forehead and a tiny smile erupted on her face as she snuggled closer. That was the moment that realization punched me in the face, I was so in love with this fiery, insane 'brilliant, beautiful and sweet girl, that it hurt but it was pain I would be happy to endure for the rest of my life though.

The sun finally set and it was time to get into place, I poked Astoria's cheek to wake her up and said, "Hey love its time to get your lazy arse moving" This earned me a painful punch in the arm, that's good though because it appeared she got her strength back. A cold howl ripped through the night air and the beast began to advance on us but there was no howl sounding out to draw its attentions away from us. That's when Granger did the most amazing yet completely stupid thing ever she howled a perfect howl and that's when Professor Lupin directed his attentions toward us and began to bound down the hill. Astoria then said, "We should split up it will confuse his sense of smell and hearing and hopefully he will go in search of a different meal." No one was in a position to argue with her so Potter and Granger ran off to the south, Blaise must have for gotten he was with people because dashed off solo to the west. It made me sigh as Astoria and I took off toward the east.

We ran for a little while and then Astoria finally said, "I don't think he's following us, in fact it sounds like he went after Mione and Harry" I gave a sigh of relief and all of a sudden things around us began to take on an icy sheen and I could feel the temperature drop here we go again. I took Astoria's hand and began racing toward the area where we were all supposed to meet up then a tree brought its branch down hard and separated us, Astoria had fallen and her wand had landed a short ways away but when she tried to move something held her in place horror dawned on me and I knew she was caught in devils snare. A Dementor was advancing on her and I only had one chance to save her I cleared my mind and thought of her warm laughter. I then spoke in a sure tone and yelled,"Expecto Patronum" It was perfect since my dragon appeared and drove the foul creature back.

I helped her up and began sprinting toward where the Dementors were gathering, its really hard when some one isn't as fit as yourself. We finally made it in one piece though and Harry, Hermione and Blaise were waiting for us and then my eyes fell on the horrible sight across the way, there was Potter and Sirius being drained by the deadly Dementors. I saw that Astoria and I were running down the hill towards them and that's when I realized we had to cast a huge Patronus. My tone was desperate as i said, "We have to combine our Patronus charms its the only way we will be able to drive the Dementors back." Astoria pulled her wand and Blaise and Potter did the same and we all said, "Expecto Patronum at the exact same time and then a herd of animals charged into the Dementor pile and drove them away.

There was only one thing left to do and that was save Sirius, Granger and Potter rode Buckbeak to the tower and that left us three Slytherins alone. Blaise was standing by one of the columns keeping watch while Astoria and I took a seat on one of the stone benches around the fountain, she then laid her head on my shoulder and said, "You saved my life thank you Draco" I took her small hand and just held it that seemed to make her relax and I said, "I will always come to your rescue because after all every princess needs her prince and every witch needs a black knight to watch over her." She giggled and said, "Tell me where I can find someone like that because I don't see any heroes around for miles or princes or knights." She always put up that wall when I tried to flirt with her it was starting to get rather irritating. I will corner her before the year is over though and really shake her up. The bright side was she didn't pull her hand away so at least there was a sign that my feelings were reciprocated. "Oh, god listen to yourself Draco, you've become a bleeding heart like Potter, its disgusting really" I ignored my conscious and laid my head on Astorias and began to think of all the ways to shake her up.
