It is your fault I'm even here... I tried to warn them, they didn't accept it. Why? because you are something I cannot put words to, and I don't even know where you are" I said, but the voice... The voice laughed. "I am in no place you have actually searched".

"Exactly my point" I scowled. "You give me this warning, that the robots we sent were interesting, and that the explorers... you look forward to them, they will be delectable, they will be delicious... but you won't tell me where you are! why do you torture me so!"

It mocked me, in it cold humor "It's fun... I'm bored, and I've been awakened"

"So it's a game?" I questioned. Nothing this serious could be a game as lives hung in the balance, or at least that was the impression I had been given.

"Yes" The voice replied chuckling. "You are sick..." I answered, but decided to humor the voice " ok, so if it's like 20 questions... are you by the north pole?"

"20 questions... never heard of it, but perhaps, so my answer is this. Maybe?"

Maybe? Does it not know where it is? "ok...south pole?"

"depends on how you are looking at it..." the voice replied "you haven't even given me a good question yet... the most obvious one"

Exasperated I almost shouted, which of course would have been horrible for where I was at the moment, as this conversation was going on inside of my head... "oh that's it... I Don't know! Show yourself!"

That is when I saw it. I saw a mass of tentacles and a large eye pass through my field of vision. A feeling of power, terror and awe came across me at once, I gasped as the voice said chillingly "as you wish..."

"Fatima" Dr. Sanchez's voice pulled my attention back to the present time. She was sitting at her desk, holding a folder with her documents. "Are you OK? You zoned out for a moment"

I shuddered at remembering what I had seen and attempted to just play it off "Oh... yea I'm fine, I was just... uh resting" I said, shrugging, though I knew more than likely this doctor was able to see right through my pathetic act. They were trained for that, they knew...

"Fatima, I can only help you, if you tell me what's going on... what happened?"

I sighed and put my head down, this office of hers was cold and intimidating, yet it's clear she tried to give it the impression of warmth, and to make it inviting. On her desk there were pictures of young children, I'd imagine them to be hers, matching hair, similar eyes, happy smiles. All the happy smiles, so foolish, so false. Probably told the children to pose for the pictures, just like everything else here, posed, to look just a certain way, so clean, so perfect, so... I have got to get out of here. I looked towards the ceiling, it was the only place that wasn't too pristine, there was dust, perhaps no one was tall enough to clear it, but I realized staring up there that if I didn't start to cooperate with her I'd be here longer than I wanted to be, but if I did, I would at least have a place to lay down. There was no leaving for me tonight, that was a given, but to escape this room, anything to escape this room!

I looked to her and smiled "well, He was talking to me again... playing a game almost. I felt his presence. I can't explain it really, he is something like a great squid, but larger... and darker. I don't mean color by the way, everything I am perceiving is in shades of blue, green and grey, I mean presence. He's cruel. He's told me that the humans are not welcome in his domain, and that the missing scout ships have been nice but disappointing offerings, that our technology lacks anything impressive, and the lack of living souls was boring, unsatisfying and that he is hungry. He also complained the offerings were noisy, which is why he was awoken in the first place. He tells me that they plan to send humans soon, and that any humans to enter his domain would be welcomed... in the sense he has always wanted to see what humans tasted like. His laugh is cold, and frightening... it grows in strength when he can sense my fear. However, he says he'll answer my questions, as I am the only one he can communicate with." I sighed again, inside a bit nervous of what I said. Unsure of what the repercussions of everything I had said I would be facing I prepared myself for the onslaught of whatever madness he would send through my mind.
