Myra's POV

Last day of school. The day that every student and teachers cheer for and the day that every parents dread for. For me, I'm actually very relieved that it was the last day of school, because I believe this is the only day that my schoolmates and I agree on. I might be an A+ student, which everyone considers as a nerd, but I still need a break. Plus, who doesn't like a good summer, where everyone gets a tan, have their summer flings, and a pool party. Which in my case isn't really going to happen.

You see, I'm an average girl with a brunette hair and blue eyes, but apparently in my school, there's a problem with that. If you see me around school, you might think that I'm that kind of girl that has lots of friend, but in reality I actually just have one. I mean, I don't look like the average nerds that wear glasses, plaid skirts, and suspenders. I just am naturally smart, plus my mom told me that I needed to have higher grades. But, I guess it's just my bad luck that in this generation, I'm consider a nerd.

Well, since it is the last day, I consider to make this day a little special, just like every year. This is the day that I put a little effort in my appearance, not that I don't in an every day life, but this day is a little special.

I decided to jump out of my bed and brush my teeth. After that, I went down stairs and I was immediately captured by the essence of the food my mom was making.

"Good morning mom." I greeted.

"Hi baby, I'm making eggs, bacon, and sausage with toast. Would you please set up the table?" Mom told me.

" Yeah, sure"

"Is your dad and brother awake already?"

"Don't think so."

____________

After eating my breakfast, I decided to pick my outfit for the day. Which consists of a blue palm tree printed tank top, black skirt,my doc martens boots, and a moon necklace. I fixed my hair in a side braid and put a little mascara and eyeliner on.

The ride to school was not how I wanted my day to start.

My brother's girlfriend, which happens to be the school's most popular girl, aka Regina George. I know, how ironic, I guess her parents was obsessed with the movie Mean Girls and decided to name their child Regina and lucky them, their last names are George. But I guess the name really does suit her, because she's just like the movie character, she's also a plastic. I mean, in front of my parents and my brother, she acts all nice and a goody too shoes, but in reality she's controlling, belittling, and mean.

"So, it looks like you stepped up your game today, Myra."

"What do you mean? It's not like I changed myself, I just wore a skirt."

"Anyways, it won't matter anymore, it's not like people are gonna look at you differently. Might've been better if you transferred into a "better" school you nerds call "the institution for the know-it-all students"

--------------
Currently its lunch right now, and I'm here alone at my usual table waiting for my one and only best friend Jessie. Unlike me, you could say that she fits in. I mean she isn't really the popular one, but at least she doesn't get shoved to the curb.

While waiting for her, which felt like centuries, I heard my phone buzzed. Which made me bend over to reach my bag under the table.

Turns out it was just a text from my mom saying I was going to be very happy when I get home. Don't know why, but I'll just have to see what happens. You see, my mom is just a typical housewife. At first, she wanted to work, but my dad wanted her to stay at home and focus on me and my brother. I'm not trying to brag, but my dad owns a huge business, so I guess my mom didn't really needed to work.

"Hey! Whats up Myr?"

And here comes the girl with an extra tray, that I guess is for me, since she always treats me if it's the last day of school. I guess you can call it tradition.

"For the millionth time, don't call me that."

"And for the millionth time, I don't care. I mean I've been calling you that since the beginning. You should get used to it."

"Yah, fine. I never win an argument with you anyways."

--------------------------
"Mom, we're home."
"Omg, you will not believe what I just found online." Oh, no. Please tell me this is not one of her crazy ideas again. The last time she told me she found something amazing online, which is last week by the way, turns out it was just a matching watch that has buttons, that when you push it, the screen would say I miss you and the other watch would beep and show the I miss you sign.
"Ok, remember that watch that I gave you last week?" Here we go again.
"Yeah"
"Well, I actually bought that for a reason."
"And what's that?"
"I saw this website, and it captured my attention. There's this school named St. Eden Academy."
"Mom"
"No, listen first. It's a very good school and I want you to go to it. There's just a tinsy bit problem."
"What is it?"
"It's all the way to Australia."
"WHAT"
As soon as I heard the word Australia, my head felt like it exploded.
"Seriously, mom that is so far and why do I have to go?"
"Look, It's done. I payed the tuition bill, plane ticket, your dorm, and everything you need. Your dad even agreed to it. Just take this as a step to being independent." "But school just ended and now you want me to go back to school, and may I add that its all the way across the world."
"This conversation is done and it's final."
As soon as she said that I stormed up to my room. I mean I can't believe that she did that. I get it she wants me to be independent, but living alone across the world. Really? I could be independent in hundreds of different ways, but she chose this. What a great surprise MOM, hint the sarcasm.
