"Look in the mirror."

His demanding tone whispered in my ear, his harsh voice piercing through the dead silence that once seemed unbreakable. My eyes stayed sewn shut in fear and I could feel his impeccably cold hands ghosting along my lower back.

"Open your eyes, Bella." His voice was closer this time, like his lips were pressed against the hallow of my earlobe. I shivered, his hands finally settling around my waist. His hands were exceedingly cold but the coolness wasn't entirely unwelcome.

"Where's Alex?" I demanded, fearing where my sister might have gone. Images of  her beautiful smile and golden hair flashed through my mind, with gleaming emerald eyes that seemed to shimmer even in memory.

"You'll find her soon enough." his voice turned hard with anger and disappointment. 

"What have you done with her?"  I demanded, an unsettlingly fear crawling into my stomach and burning through my veins.

"I have done nothing to her." He said coldly, his frozen touch lifting from my waist. Where his hands had been strangely now felt numb and empty.
