Sitting in my desk, I pulled my attention away from the teacher that was endlessly droning on about quadratic functions. My eyes quickly found their target, until my friend tapped me on the shoulder.
"Hey, what was the homework for tonight?" Nat asked me, getting a pen out to write it down.
"Oh, page 126. Read and answer the questions." I replied, finally coming back to reality.
"Thanks!" She said. I went back to what I had been gazing at the entire class period. Nat seemed to notice me and followed my line of vision. She gasped and looked at me.
"(Y/n)!! Why are you staring at him like that?" She whispered to me, hitting me on the arm.
"Don't hit me! He just seems interesting and all of you guys here act like he's the devil or something." I replied angrily.
"He's a creep and there's so many stories about him. I've heard he's tried to kill people. You have to stay away from him." She said.
"You have no idea if all of those rumors are true or not. He just seems so lonely. He has no friends because everyone is scared of him and you all avoid him like he's the plague. I think I should talk to him." I started to get up to approach the guy, but Nat grabbed my arm and pulled me into my seat.
"Don't think about it. You don't know what he might do." She whispered. I rolled my eyes and looked back at him. He looked up and his eyes caught mine, causing a blush to dust across my cheeks. I quickly looked down at my textbook, embarrassed from being caught.
He was a transfer student, coming here from South Korea, studying his last year of high school here. He was very quiet, and no one had ever heard him speak before. No one even really knew his name.
Maybe it was the mysterious aura about him, or the crazy rumors of his past and such that intrigued me. Maybe, it could even be fate.

It was finally the end of the day, and Nat was spending the night since it was a Friday. We were walking to my apartment, carrying bags of movies and snacks. We were both excited and eager to get to my apartment, but I saw someone familiar sitting on a bench, sketching in a small book.
Nat walked into a small cafe to get the drinks we ordered as I stood outside. I walked over to the familiar face and sat on the bench next to him. He stopped drawing and looked at me with an intense gaze. I blushed and cleared my throat before speaking.
"Hey, my name is (y/n). What's yours?" I asked him, hoping he wouldn't get mad. He just looked back down and closed his drawing book. He looked back up at me and finally spoke after sighing.
"You shouldn't try to talk to me. I'm better off alone." He said in a deep voice. I was surprised he actually spoke, but a little disappointed he told not to talk to him so I decided I probably should go. I quickly said goodbye before running off to join Nat. I thought I saw him smile a little, but it was gone as fast as it appeared.
When I walked over to Nat, she was standing there with her mouth open.
"Oh my gosh! I can't believe you just got him to talk to you!" She yelled while dragging me to my apartment.
"He didn't even really say that much. He just told me to leave him alone." I replied, a bit upset, while also trying to get her to slow down.
"Still, he's never even spoke to basically anyone at school. What did his voice sound like?" She said excitedly.
"Well, it was kind of deep. It was a nice voice though." I said as we came up to my apartment door and I unlocked it.
"Wow. I wish I heard it." She said, trying to fantasize what his voice was like. I just shook my head, quickly unlocking the door.
We walked in, setting all of the bags nd our drinks down on my table. Nat headed towards the couch, looking at me when my phone beeped. I looked down, seeing it was a message from one of my internet friends. We had found eachother on a social media and started chatting.
-1 new message
Baekhyun: hey, what's up?I smiled, Nat looking at me like I was crazy.
"It's my internet friend, the one I told you about the other day." I reminded her.
"Oh, yeah! Is he trying to get with you?" She said, smirking at me as my face turned red.
"Stop, I don't even know what he looks like! He's a nice guy though. I just wish we could meet in real life." I said, sighing.
"Don't worry, you'll meet your crush someday. I hope he's hot and you guys hit it off instantly. Just invite me to the wedding, or else!" She said, teasing me even more.
"Stop, let's just watch a movie." I said, popping a dvd in the dvd player. After about 5 minutes into the movie, Nat fell asleep. I decided this was a good time to text Baekhyun without Nat teasing me.
Me: hey not much
Baekhyun: oh nice, I had a question by the way?
Me: and what would that be?
Baekhyun: we live in the same city, right?
Me: yeah, we talked about that a while ago
Baekhyun: ok that's the question. here's the other part. don't go outside at night, ok? there's been a lot of people being attacked lately and it would be best if nothing happened to you.
Me: ok thanks!! well, I better go. have a good night!!
Baekhyun: bye!
I shut off my phone and sighed. He was such a nice guy and I could feel myself slowly falling for him. We'd never discussed meeting in real life, even though we'd been chatting for a few months.
I wasn't ready to discuss meeting up with him, being scared to be rejected or catfished. I just hoped it would all work out. I put my phone on the table and slowly fell asleep, thinking of Baekhyun.

In my dream, I was in a small house I was not familiar with. I slowly walked to the second floor, to a bedroom on the left of the hallway. I heard someone groaning and crying out for help. I hesitated at the door, wrapping my fingers around the cold knob. I turned it, looking at the person on the floor.
It was the boy from school. He was dying.
I ran to him and grabbed him in my arms. He had been stabbed in the stomach and he was bleeding heavily. Blood covered the floor and my clothes.
"(Y-y/n), I'm sorry. I couldn't stop him." He choked out.
"Shh, don't try to speak. I love you." I said, tears running down my face as he bled to death in my arms. He put his hand up to my cheek and I leaned into his touch. His eyes closed as he took one last breath.
"Help! Someone!" I yelled out as I held him, sobbing.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I woke up, sweating with tears running down my face. I couldn't catch my breath as the images of the him dying were still on my mind. I started sobbing as Nat woke up, rubbing her eyes."Woah, (y/n), what happened? Are you okay?" She aksed as she rubbed my back.
"I d-don't know, I had the weirdest nightmare. It was that guy from school. He was dying and I just-." I couldn't finish the sentence as I sighed and rubbed the tears off my face.
"It's okay. You can tell me in the morning, but we should get back to sleep." She said, picking the blanlet up that I had kicked onto the floor and placing it on me. I nodded my head and we both went back to sleep, this time nightmare free.
