A book jacket is the cover that encases your entire book from front to back.

This is an example of a template you would receive from Amazon to use for a published book. If shows where the barcode goes on the back cover and it also gives you the bleed area so you know what part of the image will be lost when the cover is trimmed for print. They use a formula to determine the size of the template. They need to know the trim size (this template is for a 6x9 book), type of paper, and how many pages the book is.
By contrast, a book jacket for wattpad doesn't need any of that because it isn't actually going to be printed.

This is the template I use for wattpad book jackets. It was made by my friend Holly.
The barcode on the back is a font you can find on Dafont, they're a few of them.
Many of the designers who make book jackets on wattpad make them for users who already have a cover made by another designer. This means you must match the back cover of the jacket to the already made cover.
