"Lux I'm sorry. Will you ever forgive me?" he said with tears in his eyes. The sorrow was clear on his face but I wasn't feeling the forgiveness.
"No"
_________________________________Chapter 1
The walk to school was often brutal in the summer but the more exercise, I got the better. I'm not fat, I'm actually very skinny. I just need to get exercise because I'm always siting at home and I hate sports. My mom constantly badgers me to work out but that's a lot of work and I'm lazy. I popped in my headphones right when I walked out my house and turned on my music. It was at least a forty minute walk to my school and it was already 78 degrees at 7am in the morning.
About 12 Panic! At The Disco songs later I got to Lakewood High. The school was fairly big with a bit of a sketchy park across the street from it. I was walking down the block to the entrance when I got shoved and pushed down.
"Watch where you're going, fag!" Meet Luke Manhasset. He's the 'linebacker' or whatever of the football team. He ran past me with a couple other of his goons. He was a nuisance to the school and a real idiot.
I sighed, brushed myself off and continued walking. My way to the front door. I got to the steps when I heard someone running toward me and again I braced myself.
The footsteps slowed down near me and a hand was placed on my shoulder. I looked to my right and it was Logan County, quarterback of the football team. "Hey are you okay? I saw what happened back there. Are you hurt?" he seemed genuinely concerned but with football players you can never tell.
"I'm fine thanks..." I responded warily. "Not to be rude or anything but why are you talking to me? You're a football player. Doesn't it kill your reputation just standing here with me?"
" So what. Let them talk about me. I don't care. I'm not a cold asshole. I like talking to people." he responded quite pointly. "Listen I gotta get to class. Talk to you later?"
"Uh okay" I said standing there like an idiot while he walked away.
I walked into school and went to my first class. I had Government with my good friend Jessica. I walked in and immediately sat next to her. I told her everything that happened including the Logan encounter. She was just as surprised as I was.
"What do I do?" I asked her when I was done telling my story. I was nervous that this was a trick or something.
She fiddled with my blonde hair as she constructed a responce up in her head. "I think yes, you should be careful. He is a football player." She looked into my grey eyes and spoke, "Do what you feel is right not what other people feel is right for you."
I looked at her with a weird look. "What the fuck was that prophecy shit. Have you been reading Percy Jackson again?"
I didn't get an answer because the teacher yelled at us to shut up. We were learning about the New Deal. Fun, fun, fun. It wasn't until later that I realized Logan was in my class. He was in the back corner and I was in the front. He was sort of paying attention but then again neither was I. He noticed me staring at him and he smiled at me. I turned real quick.
"Alright class, today you are gonna start your New World projects. For this project you will be working in pairs-" She was cut off with a cheer throughout the room "that I choose" leading everyone to groan. She paired Jessica with some other girl. And everyone else I know with other people. "How about Lux Blackthorn with Logan County."
... "what" ...
