Hailey's P.O.V

"Wake up in the morning, moms yelling in my room, can I get five more minutes, I aint really tripping over school. Wiz Khalifa how ye, get meditated over medicated get-"

I turned around to turn off my favourite song from Fetty Wap- even though people say the best way to hate a song is to use it as an alarm, I am just too stubborn. its a bomb song. I attempted to drag myself out of bed - keyword; attempted, but I gave up half way. I'm not use to having a king sized bed so getting out was never this hard. After 5 minutes of mental motivation I got out of bed and trotted into the bathroom. I was about to freshen up when I caught glimpse of myself in the mirror. My dark bags had gone down and for once my dark skin was glowing- melanin on fleek I must say. I brushed my teeth and took a brief shower. I then got dressed in high waist jeans and a long sleeved off shouldered black crop top. I let my wild hair down to cover the bruises on my neck  and then applied concealer to hide whatever was still visible. I picked up my school bag and my phone and went downstairs to get some breakfast.

When I walked into the kitchen I was surprised to find a table packed with food and everyone together. I grabbed a couple of slices of toast and spread them with Nutella and devoured my plate along with a banana and a cup of orange juice. There was light conversation and everyone wished me good look on my first day of school.

I went back up to my room to grab my shoes and brighten my face. I applied some mascara and a thin line of eyeliner. I applied some sheer lip-gloss and some blush. I slid on my shoes and checked the time. 8:15. I went back downstairs and told Tim I was ready to go. Every other day I would get the bus but because its my first day Tim is dropping me there. The school isn't far, maybe a 10 minute walk? so I will probably walk.....hate the bus. Brings back bad memories. I hoped in Tim's car and off we went.

"So what do you think of Medion?" asked Tim

"It is a very  beautiful and peaceful town. So far I love it here. I just hope the people are just as pleasant as the town"

"I assure you they are, I am glad you like it here."

We pulled up to the parking lot and I started to feel butterfly's in my stomach. Tim sent me a reassuring smile as I hopped out of the car. As I started approaching the school , Tim called out my name. I turned around and he said something that took me by surprise.

"If you notice anything confusing or a bit frightening , don't freak out or overreact. Please remember to be open minded. Have a good day Lee." I nodded and waved as he drove away. I wonder what he was referring to....

As I walked into the school, with an unknown source of confidence and authority I must add, I caught everyone's attention and received a few wolf whistles , friendly smiles and some sneers. I walked up to the office area and encountered a short slim woman with kind eyes at the reception area. I smiled at her and she returned the favour while asking if I was Hailey Fox and handing me my time table. I replied with a genuine smile and a thank you.

I don't know my way around the school so I walked around mindlessly. A while later, a cute blonde boy around my age with bright green eyes approached me

"Are you Hailey the new girl?" the blonde asked

"yes" I replied politely "and you are?"

"Ryder, Alex Ryder" he smirked, I laughed as he attempted to whip his hair to the side and pose.

"Do you need any help getting around?"

"yes please"

He looked at my schedule and we realised that our schedules are similar. We have first period together-Art. The bell rang approximately 2 minutes later and we went to class. I sat down beside Alex.

" Its gonna cost you to sit next to me" he smirked

" The mere presence of a Queen like myself should be enough"

"Even a Queen should be honoured to breath the same air as me"

"your delusional"

"says your majesty" he smirked

A pretty , tall brunette walked through the door with too much pep in her step till she laid her eyes on me. She looked between me and Alex and then glared at me for a while before she sat down. I swear I heard her growl but no one else seemed to notice so I ignored it. I  have to ask Alex who she is after class. A short colourful peppy woman walked into the classroom with a box almost bigger than herself.

"Good morning class, i see we have a new student. Hailey, am I right?"

"yes m'am "

" You are very welcome, I am Ms Prendergast"

"now class...." she began.

I must admit she is an interesting woman and great teacher. But I was constantly distracted with Ryder boy throwing paper in my hair. Revenge is coming soon. The bell rang and we packed up our stuff. As Alex was about to talk a step past me, I stuck out my foot and he fell head first into the ground. I was in fits laughing while he glared at me from the ground and tugged my leg bringing me down with him. We both started laughing even though there was nothing to laugh about. I could see the brunette staring at me from the corner of my eye but ignored her.

Lunch came quickly and I was introduced to Alex's friends. Amy, Jessica, Dre and Philip. They were cool , funny people. To be honest funny is an understatement.

"Jess when are you starting our project" said Dre teasingly

" whenever you find out what the project is about and do some research , i have a tight schedule ... even if i get 0 in this project it wont have much of an impact on an A student, but it might on someone who is barely passing. Right Dre-ky bear?" Jessica said with a smirk. Dre went red with embarrassment while we laughed at his misery.

" hey Hailey , would you like to come to Zach's house party with us this weekend?" said Amy

"we would be thrilled if you could come think of it as a way to bond with your new friends, get to know each other" said Jess

"Ill come.....only if we go shopping the day before"

"yaaasssss" squealed the girls as we started laughing.

Someone came into the canteen and our eyes locked immediately. It felt like the whole world just stopped. This boy was fine as hell. I quickly looked away. He hesitantly approached Jess and kissed her while Dre and Jessica locked eyes with each other. Body language noted.

When school was over, Alex and Amy walked me hope. I am so lucky to have made great friends so quickly. They asked about my old home but I swiftly changed the topic to Nutella swirled with peanut butter.

"Have you ever tried fries dipped in ice cream?"..... girl where have you been al my life, Alex  face scrunched up in disgust as we moaned at the thought of food. Me and Amy vowed to feed Alex fries and ice cream whether he liked it or not.

I soon reached home and we said our goodbyes. As soon as I got home. I called Michelle to tell her about my day.
