You had opened the door just in time to see her slam her lips onto your rubbery boyfriends'. You let out an audible gasp and saw both heads snap toward the sound.
You immediately stuttered out, "I-I'm sorry I d-didn't realize I was interrupting."
The latter part of the sentence coming to a whisper.
You felt hot tears fill your eyes before turning on a heel and running off towards the opposite end of the ship. You looked up just in time to see that the Going Merry had just pulled away from the dock and judged the distance. 200 meters maybe, 300 at the most. You hesitated a moment before deciding that taking your chances to reach the shore would be better than staying on the ship and seeing them every day. You steeled yourself and jumped into the cold dark water, despite the screams of your crewmates, and started swimming as swiftly as you could towards the shore. You determinedly focused on your strokes wanting to create as much distance as you possibly could. That is, until you heard another outcry from your crewmates. You turned just in time to see a straw hat falling to the ocean below.
You stared wide-eyed in shock, realizing that Luffy had jumped in after you, before instantly jumping into action. You swam swiftly back to where he had fallen and dove beneath the surface of the agitated waters, sinking down deeper until you finally felt a limp wrist. You grasped tightly around Luffy's wrist, and using all your strength you swam towards the bright light. Your lungs were burning as you greedily sucked in air once you had reached the top. Spotting his precious hat a few feet away you grabbed it and making sure to keep the ravenette's face above the water you swam back towards the ship. There was a huge clamor as Zoro and Sanji hauled the two of you aboard.
You immediately pushed everyone aside as you started to perform CPR on the rubber man. After what felt like an eternity, your ministrations finally paid off as Luffy finally coughed up sea water. You fell onto your back in exhaustion as Chopper flitted around making sure the two of you were ok. You looked over at Luffy and felt a surge of anger.
"What were you thinking Luffy? You know damn well that you can't swim! What was going through your head??" After all the exertion, all the emotions of anger, sadness, and jealousy had came rushing all at once. You started to cry unwillingly. The black haired boy had an uncharacteristically serious look on his face and simply wrapped his arms around your shaking frame.
"Why did you try to leave? I'm sorry (Name). I'm so sorry. I love you, please don't leave me."
"You idiot" you sniffled, "why were you kissing her?"
"She caught me by surprise and by the time I pushed her away you were already gone. I didn't have any other thought in my mind except to get to you."
You gazed into his eyes searching for the truth. When you saw that he gave an honest answer you simply sighed and hugged him in relief.
"I forgive you Luffy."
He finally let a small grin appear on his face as he cradled you in his arms while he stood up to head towards his quarters. You snuggled closer to his body, closed your eyes and relaxed. You knew he was an anchor but you would be there to save him from a certain watery death every time.
