Aaliyah Nelson has felt the same way the betrayal she's felt from her so-called friends. Despite her abusive boyfriend Aaliyah has had a bumpy road before the age of 17. Trying to find a reason to be happy.
On one unusually dark morning at the age of 12 Aaliyah woke to a loud THUD!! As if someone fell to the floor from their bed she quietly tip toed to her mother’s room. As she passed the seal of the door she heard the front door slam shut, at that point Aaliyah could hear her heart beat a thousand times faster. she walked backwards to her steps peeking over her banister. As she saw no one was there she goes to the window downstairs to see if anyone was outside. As she glanced at the dark street she saw a man running away from her house as if he were in a hurry to get away. Aaliyah thought of the worst thing possible she ran as fast as she could up the stairs to her mother’s room. As she peeked at her mother’s bed in terror. She saw her mother lying in her bed covers over her face. Aaliyah felt pretty good at the moment. Until she sees a puddle on the floor it’s pretty dark so Aaliyah steps closer to get another look. Aaliyah starts to cry the sight she sees scares her have to death as it is a puddle of blood dripping from the bed. Aaliyah's face is covered in tears right now as she pulls the covers from her mother's body; Aaliyah is depressed by what she sees. She cry’s herself to sleep this dark and lonely night. As she dreams of what she is to do, where she is to go.
Aaliyah has had lots of tragic situations in her life. This innocent young lady was raped at the young age of 8 by the one and only man we are supposed to trust the most. The man that’s been there since birth, you guessed it her father. Her mother was killed in the same house she was sleeping in at the age of 12 and has never had it easy after that. Although Aaliyah was a beautiful girl she was often picked on by younger kids because she was so quiet. As Aaliyah grew older she learned to live in her world of pain and depression and started to talk more in high school. As the years gone by Aaliyah is more social then she was. I know what you’re thinking where did Aaliyah go live ,well since everyone in her family is no longer with her even grandparents she decided to take care of herself, Although Aaliyah is only 17 she searched and searched for a good job to pay the rent of her one bedroom apartment. Aaliyah has had her eye on a couple guys, but only one in particular his name is Drake Baker. He's a sexy cool guy that’s been caught by Aaliyah looking at her. She’s also been looking at him in biology class. After a few more weeks of eye contact Drake finally gets the guts to start a conversation with Aaliyah "HI MY names Drake I’ve seen you around school and i'd like to get to know you better would you like to go to a movie tonight at 8pm I’ll pick you up"? SURE!! Aaliyah replied with a smile. That night she tried on what seemed to be like a thousand different outfits. She finally found an outfit she loved and once it hit 8 she heard a knock at her door that just injected her with so much excitement she jumped up and ran to the door. She open the door and sure enough it was Drake. Honestly for a second Aaliyah thought it was too good to be true, and even though she was so excited in the back of her mind she was scared that Drake would turn out to be like her dad but she blew it off as if that never happens.
As they drive to go to the movie Drake asked,
So how has life been for you? Ashamed of Aaliyah's own past Aaliyah reply’s, OH you know the normal teenage life still searching for my destiny..
Drake: Yeah same here I’m still not quite sure what my life is about, or will be about at the moment, but maybe I’m sitting right next to my destiny "He says with a smile" Aaliyah smiles back and chuckles as her cheeks turn red. They finally get to the movies. As they walk up to the ticket boot Drake asked what would you like to see on this fine evening and bows, Aaliyah laughs at his joke and says i like your science of humor. Aaliyah looks up at the movie choices she automatically sees a movie title that catches her eye "The New Chapter" As they stepped to the ticket booth Aaliyah trips almost falling until Drake steps in and catches her. Amazed Aaliyah looks at him and stares into his eyes. She blinks really hard and glanced away and started to blush as she noticed she was staring and stands up and says thank you. He reply’s with a "Your Welcome my dear" they walk into the movies and picks the highest seat in the middle. As they watch the movie Aaliyah can see out of the corner of her eye that Drake was staring at her she smiles from ear to ear in excitement. A part in the movie caught her attention real quick as there was a puddle of blood on the floor as there was from Aaliyah’s mother. Aaliyah’s eyes start to water but quickly try so hard to keep her tears from falling from her eyes as she would never want to tell drake of her past. When the movie was over they had got into Drakes car and had driven back to Aaliyah’s house. On the way there Drake had asked Aaliyah how she liked the movie but Aaliyah was too busy looking at Drake from the side of eye to even pay attention to the movie so she just replied "oh it was a great movie I liked it a lot, and thanks for taking me I had lots of fun.as they drive into the drive way he immediately gets out and opens the door for her. She gets out and says "thank you". And walks to her door he grabs her hand and says i had a great time we should do this again. An Aaliyah shake her head in agreance.They finally get to the door and say their final goodbyes and drake leans forward and give Aaliyah a kiss on the cheek. She smiles and walks in the house. She looks out the window to make sure he's gone. She starts jumping around and smiling extra hard.
The next morning Aaliyah went to school and saw drake she waves and walks up to give him a hug and he sort of avoids her, but she ignores it thinking he didn’t see her. Then she sees him again in the day and he still doesn’t say hi again. Aaliyah decides not to say anything to him this time. Aaliyah is worried in the back of mind she can't stop thinking about Drake. At this time she couldn't take it anymore and asked Drake what was wrong? Drake replied "I just can't talk about it right now I’m scared" Aaliyah replies "no tell me what are you scared of?' Drake answers "Well I really like you and i don't know if you like me back." Aaliyah is shocked and smiling she answers “I do like you" Drake is smiling and happy with her answer Drake asked Aaliyah “Will you be my girlfriend?" Aaliyah is really happy at this moment, but she wants to keep it cool so just answers with a simple "yes i will be your girlfriend' Drake smiles at Aaliyah and he gives her a hug and they go back to class.
Two months later.........
Drake and Aaliyah are at Aaliyah's house having an agreement. Aaliyah saw Drake kissing another girl and Drake Denys it , but Aaliyah keeps yelling and making Drake mad. Aaliyah keeps asking for the truth from him but Drake is not answering her questions. It went to the point where Aaliyah threatened to leave Drake if he didn’t tell her. Drake was really shocked and told her she isn't leaving him. Aaliyah told him "yes i am" and she starts walking away. Drake grabs her arm tightly and puts his hand with force then.............
