Chapter 2

"Alli?" I hear a muffled voice call out to me. All I see is darkness. Am I dead? "Alli? Come on please!" The voice gets clearer. Louis? I open my eyes.

Louis sighs out in relief. "Oh thank god! Alli I thought I lost you!" he approaches me squeezing me into a hug.

I gasp for breathe. He has clearly forgotten that I can't breathe because he's suffocating me.

"Lou-can't-breathe." I manage to gasp out.

He pulls away quickly. "Shit. My bad Al. Did I hurt you?"

"No not at all. I'm fine."

"Don't play games with me. You just came out of a fucking car accident. Don't you realize how bad it was?"

I turn around to see what the hell my brother was talking about. I gasp at the site. My truck has been completely flipped over. The tree I hit has fallen over and the windshield was shattered everywhere. My eyes widened as I stare down at the glass shards around me. There was blood on most of them. I sit up so I can look inside the vehicle. I cover my mouth with my hand. The drivers seat has blood everywhere.

"Louis, how do you find me?"

"Penny called me and asked if you got home safely because you never called her to let her know. She got all worried because you left the diner 30 minutes ago so I told her I'd go out and see if anything happened and I just found you like this and I thought you were..." he trailed off, looking away from me.

I reach out and grab his hand. "But I'm here now." I smile at him.

He smiles back and sniffles. "I couldn't lose you Al. Your all I have now after mom and dad passed. I-I don't know what I'd do..."

"I'm strong just like mom Lou. never forget that."

Another car pulls up to the site of the accident. The brakes slam immediately. Penny hops out of the car. She takes a look at me and falls to her knees.

"You're alive?! Thank god... Thank you." She cries into her hands. "Alli, are you hurt? If so, where?"

"I don't know I feel fine." I answer truthfully. Strangely, I feel like I haven't even been in an accident.

"Oh my gosh, you have a lot of blood around your stomach." she touches my shirt gently. "Sorry, did that hurt?"

I shake my head.

She carefully lifts up my shirt and gasps in horror. Quickly, she jumps to her feet. "There's nothing.."

"What the devil are you talking about?" Louis asks

"She doesn't have a wound on her stomach! How is that possible?"

Louis walks over and lifts my shirt up. His eyes widen. He quickly examines my body, feeling for any wounds. He opens his mouth to say something but nothing comes out.

I sit up and swallow hard when I see the amount of blood I have on my clothes. I feel around my body and I feel my stomach drop. Penny was right. No evident injuries.

"I don't understand... how?" I ask in shock.

"We're taking you to the hospital. Cmon Penny."

5 hours later

"Well I've looked through the tests and X-rays ." the doctor says while opening my door. Louis stands up automatically while Penny bites on her nails eagerly. "There seems to be nothing abnormal or damaged. Allison is perfectly healthy."

"Wait what?" Louis shouts out. "Doc, she was in a car accident! She has no injuries whatsoever?"

"Are you sure? Because she's perfectly healthy. I didn't find one malfunction anywhere."

Dead silence has filled the room. The doctor shuffles on his feet awkwardly. He coughs. "I should go check on my other patients. Allison your free to go home now." he walks out the door and shuts it closed.

"Louis, what the actual fuck is going on? You saw how horrible the accident was! Why don't I have any imjuires?" my voice is panicky.

"I don't know, okay? Your not the only one who is freaked out." Louis pinches the bridge of his nose. "This has nothing to do with you mind reading thing right?"

Louis and Penny are the only people who know about my 'special' ability. They are pretty much the only people I can trust 100% in my life. I can tell them anything and I know that I am safe.

"I don't think so."

"It could be. You don't even know why or how you do it. By all means, you might be able to heal at the speed of light."

"No because remember last year I broke my ankle."

"That's right. you wore that cast for 2 months." Louis nods remembering me tripping over a hose at the park.

"You never know though. This could have something to do with your ability, you just don't know it yet." Penny suggests.

"Can we please get out of here? I just want to go to sleep. My head hurts just thinking about all I this."

They both nod and we leave the hospital.

"I'm heading home. Call me if you need anything." Penny says while stepping into her car.

As Louis is driving, I can feel my head throb over everything that's going on. First, I was in a car accident. Second, I'm not injured at all. Even the doctor says I'm perfectly healthy. Third, I have this weird ability that I have no idea how I got or why I have it. My mind is buzzing. An image hits me as I'm thinking about the fucked up night I'm having. Before I blacked out, I swear there was somebody there with me..

"Hey Louis. Was there anybody with you when you found me?"

"No why?" Louis says while pulling into the driveway.

"Just curious."
