*They called her Ladybug.*
Ladybug.
Ladybug.
Ladybug.
The voices swirled around him, invisible yet coming from all directions, confusing him and making him stumble.
He could see nothing but a large expanse of white and gray.
"Ladybug,
Ladybug,
Ladybug," they whispered, as if mocking him.
The winds picked up, so strong that they began to raise him up, towards the stormy purple vortex above him.
And she was there.
She was there, and she was falling.
He yelled, his arms outstretched, trying to reach her. "No!"
His fingertips grazed her open palm.
So close.
Trying to catch her and he couldn't catch her,
Trying to save her, couldn'tsavehercouldn't save-

He sat bolt upright in bed, his head jerking up and hitting the bookshelf above him. His breathing was heavy, and he could feel his shirt damp and sticky with sweat, clinging to his back like a baby koala to its mother.

"Bloody hell," he murmured, rubbing his forehead.

He had frequently been having these dreams for over a week now, and he was clueless as to why.

"HA!"

"Oh, great." Adrien mumbled, rubbing his aching head and blinking the sleep out of his eyes. He looked up to see a floating miniature cat buzzing around his head.

"Owww..."

The cat immediately launched into teasing him.

"Another one of those dreams about Ladybu-"

Plagg, who had been imitating making out by making kissy faces and rubbing his arms up and down his body, was cut off as Adrien's hand swatted him out of the air.

He didn't bother to check if the little cat was okay. He always was, much to Adrien's annoyance.

"Ow! Wa wazzat for?"

"No Camembert for you if you don't shut up."

"Fine."

Plath sulked for a little bit before adding offhandedly, "And by the way, you're late to school."

"What the-"

At the speed of sound, Adrien dashed out of his room, skidding into the bathroom while simultaneously squirting the first bottle he saw into his mouth, which he promptly spit out.

Plagg, scolding forgotten, was rolling over himself in laughter.

Adrien decided not to waste anymore time and just rinsed out his mouth. Grabbing his backpack, he raced out the door yelling to his father's confused assistant,"HiNathaliethanksforbreakfastseeyoulaterbye!"

Nathalie frowned, taking note of this.

As Adrien raced down the streets down school after being being dropped of by his limo, he tripped over a chink in the school's tile floors and stumbled. As if in slow motion, outside his body, he saw himself begin to fall. He was jerked back into his body as he felt something warm collide into him as he fell. Looking up, he met the surprised and frantic bluebell eyes of also-late, blushing and stammering Marinette Dupain-Cheng.
