They called her Ladybug

Chapter 2

"Oh, uh, hi Marinette! Uh, I'm really sorry for crashing into you, are you okay?"
Adrien, blushing, picked himself up, then extended a hand out to Marinette.

She stared at it awkwardly for a moment, then suddenly clasped it and pulled herself up, stammering 'thank you's and 'I'm so sorry's. Her face was as red as a tomato.

"I'm really sorry, but I have to g t to class!"

He rushed off down the hallway. Halfway to his class, however, he realized they had been going to the same class anyway and he should have walked - or, ran - with her.

Stupid.

He did like Marinette. She was really nice and funny, especially with all the antics she experienced when she was him. He never did realize why she did that. Maybe she was scared of him? But she was also pretty cute. He might have even asked her out, if he didn't already like someone-

"Ladybug alarm! Ladybug alarm!"

"What? Where?"

Adrien whipped his head around in confusion, just to witness his kwammi laughing so hard tears were coming out of his eyes. Plath was chuckling heartily, clutching his stomach while bent over in midair.

"Your- chuckle, snort- face! It was -snort- priceless!" I just meant that you were thinking about her again, and you did that!"

Plagg lapsed into another fit of giggles. Adrien flushed, then grabbed his tiny cat fairy thing out of the air and stuffed him into his bag.

"Plagg!" He hissed, "you can't be out during the school day! Someone could see you! Go through my bag and find some Camembert or something!"

After making it through the halls, Adrien skidded into his seat in the classroom, much to the chagrin of his teacher.

Late.

But it was worth it. Because Marinette was looking at him, along with the rest of the class, and she was trying to hide her laugh- not one of malice, but of cute admiration.

Adrien blushed and rubbed the back of his head. She really was adorable.

Stop it Adrien. You like Ladybug.

But his heart and mind were telling him different things...
