I couldn't escape my thoughts of confusion, do I really love him, or was it a forced reply not to hurt him.

Dan was huddled tightly to my chest, I softly lifted his hand for a moment so I could reach over to my phone and Check the Time, 3:23. I wanted to sleep but I couldn't, my endless thoughts kept me awake thinking about what I said was true or not.
