After I finished eating I went to my room and threw some gym shorts on. I grabbed my basketball and went out front with Jeremy hoping it would distract me from basically everything that was going on in my life at the moment. I dribbled the ball up and down the drive way trying to get around J who was currently trying to block me. I took a shot and the ball grazed the rim and went through the hoop.
"Why can't you just come get me? I don't have any money for a taxi!" I overheard Daisy from the street.
"No shit Sherlock. I don't get paid everyday I work, I get paid once a week." I heard her yelling at someone through the phone.
"Okay whatever, go fuck yourself." She said and then hung up her phone and slumped on the side walk with her head in her hands.
I gave Jeremy a look and he nodded his head in her direction motioning me to go talk to her. Well he's no help.
"Hey is everything alright?" I asked her making her jump.
"Shit you scared me." She said and quickly wiped a tear from her face.
"Oh fuck sorry. Do you need a ride home?" I asked her willingly .
"No it's fine it shouldn't be too far of a walk."
I just rolled my eyes and grabbed my keys out of my pocket walking towards my truck. I got in and started the engine.
"Hop in." I told her, well more like demanded. Knowing she had no other choice she got in and thanked me.
Most of the ride was awkward silence until I decided to break it.
"So what does a girl like you have to be crying about?" I asked her curious about the phone call earlier.
"It's nothing just my foster parents are assholes."
"Shit I'm sorry." I stuttered feeling like a dick.
"You need to stop apologizing before I punch you." She said making me feel better.
I took a turn down lake street and dropped her off. Her eyes were uneasy as she said goodbye and I felt the need to watch to make sure she got in safe.
I then put my car in reverse and drove back home.************************************Sorry this is a short chapter! I just want to get on with the book more so I stopped here. But thankyou for Reading!!
