"'Cause your amazing, just the way you are!" Jace held my hand as he sang (more like yelled) the words of his song for me. The radio was up so loud he had to be louder. "You know this song was written for you Tess? Even Bruno Mars knows your perfect!" I giggled and felt heat rise to my cheeks. "Tessa?" He said turning to me, "Your my favorite song." He always said that. I smiled and pecked him on the cheek as he continued to drive me home.

As we pulled into my driveway, Jace hopped out and opened the door of his Jeep for me. "Why thank you good sir," I said as I bowed. We wiped our feet on the mat by the front door and Jace said,"You know its only five days until our three year anniversary?" I nodded, kind of surprised he remembered. The end of senior year was approaching and both of us were excited to move away together  next year. Jace was the spitting image of a Ken doll. His skin was always tan, he was six-foot, his dark brown hair always perfectly kept, and his eyes were a sparkling green. I, however, was not as blessed as him in the looks department. I was short, about 5'4, had dirty blonde hair and dark brown eyes. We were never couple of the year. While he had been the pitcher for the varsity baseball team since sophmore year, I had never really been into sports. I played soccer as a child and began tennis freshman year but it never worked out. These days, I was more into writing and music.

An ice sickle drops into the five inches of snow from the previous night, breaking me out of my thoughts. My fingers fumbled around in the front pocket of my jeans to find my house key. As soon as I felt the cold metal against my fingertips, I plunged it into the lock. As I opened the door, I notice nobody's home but hat's not unusual in my house. I walked in the door and waved my hand forward for Jace to come in. "Actually... I uh... gotta go Tess. See you tomorrow."

He said as he turned away and headed back to his car. "Oh, okay" I answered, so quietly I doubt he heard me. I stepped inside and slipped off my shoes, setting them by the door and running upstairs to my room. Going into my bedroom, I jumped on top of the white bedspread that adorned my bed. A headache creeps its way into the front of my skull and all I want to do is sleep; I could lay here for hours. Knowing I had to be productive in some way, I pulled my slippers on and headed downstairs. I swung right into the kitchen and rhythmically pull open the fridge. I pulled out some left over pasta from the restaurant down the street. I placed it in the microwave just in time to hear my phone vibrate against the granite counter. I picked it up and unlock my phone to see a text from Jace.

Jace: Hey babe. How you doing? Sorry I couldn't come in earlier :(

Me: Actually I don't feel so good. My head is hurting.

The Microwave beeps and I pull out my pasta.

Twenty minutes later, I put my plate by in sink and just as I'm about to head upstairs, I hear a honk outside. I opened the window curtains over looking the front of the house to see Jace's car parked in the driveway. He's leaning on the car with one hand in his pocket and the other holding some movies and advil. I quickly unlock the door and run outside. "Babe your the best!" I run into his arms and he drops the movies.

"Oops," he laughs and picks up the movies. "Hey Tess, glad to see you to." I chuckle and give him another hug. He grabs my hand and we stride inside. Sometimes I wonder how we work; How we make such an amazing couple. He's so perfect and I'm... so not. When he looks at me, I bask in the warmth that radiates off of him and I wonder what he sees. He sits me down on the couch on top of his lap. "I thought we could watch movies while you weren't feeling good." I nodded and went to set up the DVD player.

Hours go by as we watch movies and it's eleven when he says he has to leave. "No absolutely not," I protest. "It's way too late! Just spend the night here."

"No Tessa. I have to go home. My parents are expecting me." I make a pouty face in hope he'll change his mind. Soon he's on his feet and walking towards the door. I follow him and open the door. "I love you" I say and kiss his cheek.

"I love you so much Tess." His eyes linger on my lips a bit before he softly plants a kiss on me. He turns and walks over to his car, unlocking the door and hopping in. I watch as his Jeep backs out of the driveway and he drives towards his house. How did I get so lucky?
