You might be wondering what sprite has to do with anything. I support people who drink sprite, i think it is a great soft drink. I myself enjoy coke, Spirits & Sprite seemed a better title than Spirits & Coke, so yea, that's why I have the title.

I was 7 years old and studying in a boarding school in Darjeeling. 4 other cousins of mine were also there. I remember singing songs in class, nursery rhymes i think. It was all fun and games then. We use to practice kung fu fighting, I didn't get into any fights so I don't know how good my kung fu was.

One evening after it was dark, few of the seniors who were around 16 years of age, called us 7-9 years old in one of the dorms. Shakti was the one who spoke to us.

"I am going to call a spirit", said shakti, "the spirit is going to speak to you, after that its going to come after you, whoever gets caught will die, do you understand?"

"Yes", we all said, all of us were very excited.

"Alright", said Shakti. The lights went dark, we waited, I was starting to get scared because it was dark. I heard a slap, some said "ouh, who slapped me," giggles followed.

The lights came back on, Shakti was standing before us, some thing was different though, I couldn't make out his face, it kept changing from one to another, then he spoke "Why have you disturbed me?", his voice had changed, it was like a girl's voice.

"We wanted to meet with a spirit", said my cousin V.

"ha ha ha" laughs Shakti, only it seemed to echo all over.

"So, you want to join me in the spirit world" said the spirit.

"Yea sure", said a few of us together.

"Then all of you will die", screamed the spirit.

The lights went out again, I heard may shouts, then everyone started to run. I started to run towards where I thought the door was and ran straight to the wall, bang, and fell. Someone grabbed my hair and said,

"So, you want to join us",

"You want to die",

Those words kept echoing, and I thought I really hit the wall hard.

"No, I don't want to die", I said, "please let me live, please".

"You must pay for disturbing us" said the spirit.

"Please don't kill me, tell me what you want".

"What we want, hahaha, you think you can give us what we want?"

"Yes, I can" I said without thinking.

"You must sacrifice a person, when we ask, can you do that?

"Yes", I said again without thinking. He let go of my hair, I got up.

The lights came back on, there was no one in the room, except Shakti who was lying on the floor. I went to him and shook him. He didn't move.

I shook him again, "boo", he said, surprising me, and laughed. He left the room, leaving me alone. I laughed thinking there was no spirit, it was all Shakti, and went back to my room.
