"Red Moon Pack... the Stone River Pack has killed off another member of our pack. Tonight we remember Shine, a young mid-ranking she-wolf," said the male alpha of Red Moon Pack, Pine. "The Stone River pack has become too agressive. We must relocate."

A grey wolf whimpered. "But I'm expected to have pups soon. They won't be able to travel far."

"Amber, that is why I'm going to have to ask you to leave," Pine said, expressionless.

"What? But-"

"Pups will only slow us down. Now leave."

"But Pine!" Amber pleaded, looking from Pine, to her mate, Fang, and back to Pine again.

"Carry out with the tradition," Pine said backing up.

Fang walked up to Amber.

"Fang, just because tradition says you drive me away to keep me from coming back, doesn't mean you need to do it!" Amber cried.

"I'm sorry, Amber," Fang stood his ground, "But that's exactly what it means."

Fang ran at Amber, nipping around her neck. Amber wasn't allowed to fight back, or the nips at her neck would turn into bites. And she needed to stay strong for her pups.

Fang suddenly swung his head into Amber, knocking her to the side. Amber was still quite young and strong, so she didn't fall. Out of instinct, she bit Fang's muzzle.

Fang growled with rage at her reaction. "Amber you're only making this worse!" And he dashed forward and rammed his shoulder into her. This time she fell over completely.

Amber was scared for herself and her pups. She knew Fang had problems controlling his anger, and she really hoped he wouldn't loose control on her. Fang bit down on Amber's muzzle. Amber whimpered in pain as Fang shook her around like a squeaky toy, still latched onto her muzzle by his jaws.

Amber heard some wolf ask Pine if they should stop Fang. "Tradition allows Fang to do whatever he wants to Amber," was all Pine said.

Fang then flung Amber across the ground. She hit with a painful thud. The white snow around them was now red.

"Fang..."

Fang kicked Amber hard, making Amber let out a little squeak. "Shut up and leave. I'm warning you," he snarled.

Defeated, Amber tried her best to stand up. Tail between her legs, she gave Red Moon Pack and Fang one last pleading look, and left.

She would raise her pups all on her own.
